INTERNAL AUDIT MISSION: The mission of internal audit is to provide independent, objective assurance and consulting activity that is guided by a philosophy of adding value to improve the operations of DC WASA. It assists the organization in accomplishing its objectives by bringing a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of the organization's risk management, control, and governance processes. BUDGET OVERVIEW: The FY 2010 revised budget is slightly lower than the approved FY 2010 budget due to outsourcing of the Internal Audit function. There are no budgeted positions within the department. The approved FY 2011 operating budget is relatively flat compared to the revised FY 2010 operating budget.
