Zeus <strong>Scientific</strong> Announces AIMS System that Enables Same<br />
Platform Processing for Both AtheNA Multi-Lyte ® and ELISA<br />
Raritan, NJ – May 23, 2008 – Zeus <strong>Scientific</strong>, Inc. is pleased to announce the<br />
availability of the AIMS (Automated Immunoassay Multiplexing System) platform.<br />
The AIMS system is a fully automated platform that allows the processing of<br />
AtheNA Multi-Lyte ® multiplexed assays and Wampole ELISA II assays on the<br />
same platform. The system is the first fully integrated and open system that<br />
allows the processing of microplate based assays utilizing the proprietary<br />
Luminex ® xMAP ® based technology as well as traditional ELISA based assays. This<br />
unique system seamlessly incorporates the AtheNA Multi-Lyte ® reader and an<br />
ELISA reader to fully automate both microplate processes on the same platform<br />
for the first time. Current AtheNA Multi-Lyte users can easily upgrade to full<br />
automation by acquiring the AIMS system and having their current AtheNA Multi-<br />
Lyte ® reader installed on the platform. The platform provides maximum flexibility<br />
by allowing the user to select any one of several options:<br />
• AIMS system complete with both an AtheNA Multi-Lyte ® Reader and ELISA<br />
reader<br />
• AIMS-AtheNA Multi-Lyte ® system with just an AtheNA Multi-Lyte Reader ®<br />
• AIMS-ELISA system with just an ELISA reader<br />
• AIMS upgrade for current AtheNA Multi-Lyte ® users<br />
Utilization of the AIMS system allows laboratories to maximize their efficiency by<br />
offering complete walk-away performance for both technologies. The AIMS<br />
system is the latest addition to the AtheNA Multi-Lyte ® product line which offers<br />
one of the broadest FDA cleared multiplexing menus in the clinical diagnostic<br />
arena. Combined with the extensive Wampole II ELISA product line, the AIMS<br />
system provides an efficient, open, fully automated solution in a multimethodology<br />
format that can accommodate clinical testing labs of any size.<br />
The AIMS System is distributed in the United States by Inverness Medical<br />
