This questionnaire is based on the Canadian Problem Gambling
Index. Clients can use it as a self-assessment tool. It can also
be included as part of your screening process and discussed in
the client interview.
2 What Factors Can Put You at Greater Risk for Problems
This handout ties in well with the Canadian Problem Gambling
Index. The more risk factors that are identified by a client, the
greater the chance that the client may develop problems. The
risk factors in combination with the cpgi score can provide a
good indication of a client’s likelihood of developing problems. It
can also provide an opportunity to explore gambling further
with a client.
3 Winning Ways to Keep Gambling Safe
This handout provides tips for safe gambling for those clients
who choose to continue gambling. If they would like to understand
their gambling behaviour better you can also give them
the booklet, Problem Gambling: The Issues, the Options.
