Creating the new Leon look
When we designed the new SEAT Leon, we used a special tool: light. Every day the
prototype was wheeled outside so we could see how the reflections and highlights
looked under the clear Spanish sun.
We worked tirelessly to make sure every line had the ideal depth and definition.
And that every shadow created the right dramatic effect.
The final result is striking. The lines converge to form dynamic triangular shapes,
that give way to generous curves. This is what gives the new Leon its visual balance.
And it sums up its character well too. Bold but warm, and ready to shine in
every situation.

When we designed the new Leon, we wanted it to be practical as well as beautiful.
The kind of car that everyone could enjoy every day.
That’s why we gave it five doors, integrating them into the design without losing
any of the car’s fluid good-looks. This makes the generous cabin easily accessible
for all the passengers.
And, because more people means more stuff, it comes with 380 litres of boot space.
This way the new Leon can accommodate a whole family and all their bags, without
ever losing its cool.

VISIONARY
FEATURES
Safety has never been so stylish
Look deep into the new Leon’s sculpted front and rear lights, and
you’ll see the future. Or to be more precise: SEAT Full LED.
A unique option in the SEAT Leon segment, SEAT Full LED lights
make use of LED technology both in the headbeams and running
lights. They give the new Leon a sleek, contemporary look.
LED lights are smarter and more efficient than their halogen
equivalents. They are quicker to respond, vibration resistant and
they last longer too. Ultimately they make you more visible on the
road. And more admired.
With futuristic lights outside, we had to create the optimum
experience inside too. Which is why there’s SEAT Drive Profile that
allows you to choose the driving mode you want.
By switching between three distinct modes – Normal, Sport and
ECO (the most environmentally considered option), you can see,
hear and feel the change in the Leon’s performance.
Each mode allows you to vary engine response, power-steering,
interior ambient lighting (red in sport mode and white in Normal
and Eco mode) and engine sound (via a sound actuator). What’s
more, you can select your favourite aspect of each mode to suit
your personal driving style. Wherever you look in the new Leon,
you’re always looking at the future.

Extra sensory enjoyment
We wanted the new Leon to be more than a car. We wanted it to be an experience.
That’s why every feature and fitting is made to such exacting standards. From the
ergonomic seats and moulded instrument clusters, to the chrome door handles and
leather steering wheel; everything in the new Leon breathes an air of quality.
There’s a range of upholstery choices, including Alcantara, beige leather, black,
and black and grey. And you’ll find sophisticated infotainment systems that will
keep you up-to-date and entertained.

The new Leon looks powerful even when it’s standing still. But start
the engine, and you’ll discover it’s a car that keeps its promises.
Choose from the formidable but efficient 1.6 litre TDI; the lean,
mean 1.2 litre TSI; or go all out with our most powerful engines -
the 1.8 TSI and the 2.0 TDI.
All our engines are powerful and responsive. But thanks to their
legendary fuel economy, the performance won’t come at a price,
because these are a new generation of engines with lower emissions
and petrol consumption that ever before.
And, thanks to a more evenly balanced suspension, the new Leon
can deliver something beyond just raw power: it connects you
to the road through a drive that’s at once more sporty, dynamic
and comfortable. This way driving is always a pleasure, wherever
your journey takes you.

Eco-conscious cars
START/STOP SYSTEM.
This system allows you to save fuel and cut down on CO2 emissions.
The new Leon is a natural athlete. Bold, powerful and agile.
But it’s also eco-friendly.
This is thanks in part to something known as the Start/Stop
system. This innovative technology limits the amount of time
that the engine spends idling, shutting down when you’re at
a standstill. So if you spend a lot of time in traffic, it cuts down
your emissions and your fuel bills.
OFF
ON
To give you an example, the most efficient model is the 1.6 TDI CR
105 HP (77 KW) which emits only 98 CO2 g/km of emissions and
has a fuel consumption of 3.7 l/100 km.
So while the new Leon might make a big impression on you,
the environment will hardly know it’s there.
Start/Stop System activates when you are in a neutral
gear position. The engine turns off completely and
remains stopped until you put the foot on the clutch.
To be on the move again, you only need to step
on the clutch, shift into first gear and the engine
will start automatically.

SAFETY IN
NUMBERS
Peace of mind comes as standard
The most important things that go into the new Leon are you and
your passengers. That’s why we’ve designed it to be one of the safest
places you can be on the road.
FRONT & REAR PARKING SENSOR.
These intelligent sensors help guide you into a parking space without incident, warning you if you are too close to the kerb, or another car.
For starters it comes with built-in XDS*. A clever piece of technology
that improves the car’s traction when accelerating through curves,
and Hill Hold Control for smoother hill starts.
The new Leon also looks out for you in other ways. With the aid of
a monovideo camera installed on the windshield, the High Beam
Assist automatically alters the intensity of the headlights where
necessary. Lane Assist warns you if you drift into another lane and
automatically corrects the car’s trajectory. There’s even a Tiredness
Recognition System that helps to keep you alert at the wheel.
HILL HOLD CONTROL.
For smoother hill starts every time. Hill Hold control keeps the brakes applied until the engine has enough torque for you to move off.
Six airbags come as standard, including an optional rear side
airbag. Meanwhile in the rear seats there’s an iSOFiX system to keep
the smallest passengers safe and sound.
Wherever you’ll be sitting in the new Leon, you’ll always be on the
safe side.
AIRBAGS.
With six airbags and an optional knee airbag,
every corner of the new Leon is a safe place to be.

ASSISTANT
ONBOARD
The car that thinks of everything
LANE ASSIST.
This system helps you to remain in the intended lane of travel, warning you if you start drifting
into another lane, and automatically correcting the car’s trajectory.
HIGH BEAM ASSIST.
Where necessary, the new Leon switches from high to low beam settings automatically so as not to disturb oncoming traffic,
leaving you to concentrate on the road.
TIREDNESS RECOGNITION SYSTEM.
By dynamically analysing driving decisions, this system can detect if the driver is losing concentration and will suggest taking a rest.
It warns acoustically and optically on instrument panel for 5 seconds, and repeats if necessary.
