Monday 24 th May<br />

06:15 Depart <strong>School</strong> and travel by coach to port. Please meet at school 06:00 so<br />

that the coach can depart as scheduled Transfer time school to port<br />

approx 2 hours.<br />

08:15 Arrive at Dover and check in at P & O terminal, quoting the reference<br />

number above (tickets are issued on departure). Please have names list<br />

with passport details to hand in at port, detailing all group members<br />

including staff. You may be asked to show all passports/group passport.<br />

Please complete your P&O Group Passenger List (supplied by <strong>Voyager</strong><br />

<strong>School</strong> <strong>Travel</strong>) and hand in when you check in at Dover and Calais.<br />

09:15 Depart Dover on ferry.<br />

11:45 Arrive Calais (local time).<br />

17:00 Check into hotel. We always advise room inspections upon check-in for<br />

pre-recorded damage. <strong>Voyager</strong> also recommend carrying out a fire drill, or<br />

at least ensuring that all pupils are aware of all emergency exits and fire<br />

Presentations by each school on their home towns and a ‘day in the life of<br />

14:00 Visit to Nausicaa Sealife Centre (Transfer time app. 30min)<br />

15:00 Tyne Cot cemetery & Memorial of the Missing<br />

Tyne Cot Cemetery is located 9 kilometres north east of Ieper town centre,<br />

on the Tynecotstraat, a road leading from the Zonnebeekseweg (N332).<br />

There are two separate registers for this site - one for the cemetery and<br />

one for the memorial.<br />

The Cemetery Register will be found in the entrance gate<br />

The Memorial Register will be found in the left hand rotunda of the<br />

memorial as you face the memorial. The Panel Numbers quoted at the end<br />

of each entry relate to the panels dedicated to the Regiment served with.<br />

In some instances where a casualty is recorded as attached to another<br />

Regiment, his name may alternatively appear within their Regimental<br />

Panels. The names of those missing from United Kingdom units are<br />

inscribed on Panels arranged by Regiment under their respective Ranks.<br />

16:00 Essex Farm cemetery (if time allows)<br />

The site is located just north of Ypres, and can be reached by taking the<br />

N369 from Ypres, north towards Boezinge. The road passes under the<br />

main N38 trunk road just after leaving the outskirts of Ypres, and the<br />

Cemetery is located on the right hand side of the road just after this as<br />

you head north. Just behind the cemetery is a memorial to the 49th West<br />

Riding Division.<br />

16:30 Return to centre<br />

18:30 Dinner and final evening entertainments<br />

Friday 28 th May<br />

08:30 Breakfast and collect packed lunches. Depart resort and transfer to Centre<br />

Historique Médiéval. After the visit transfer back to Calais.<br />

15 :10 Arrive Calais and check in at the P & O terminal, quoting your reference<br />

number.<br />

16 :10 Depart Calais on ferry crossing.<br />

16 :40 Arrive Dover. Depart for school.<br />

19 :00 Approximate arrival time back at school. Welcome back!<br />

International check in times after 3pm on arrival day and check out by 10 am on last day. We will try to arrange<br />

luggage storage rooms in case or earlier arrival or late departure.<br />

We advise that all group members bring their own hand and bath towels.<br />

If groups are delayed en route to accommodation OR visits we ask that they telephone the supplier in advance.<br />

Please do remember to allow small additional sums to tour funds to tip drivers/guides/restaurants etc.<br />
