The future of digital color precision.
Eshuis, a label and flexible packaging converter based in the Netherlands, has been using HP Indigo printing
technology since 2003. Digital printing now accounts for 20% of their business.
A significant part of Eshuis’ work is to accurately and consistently print the corporate PANTONE Colors used by
their global clients. Many times, well-known customers in the beverage industry need labels printed quickly and
precisely, especially when their brand colors are so important.
“Rather than producing their labels using standard flexo printing, we are able to use the HP Indigo because it
provides us the flexibility to print high-quality labels in relatively short runs,” says Peter Overbeek, CEO of Eshuis.
“Using the Indigo and their Pantone-licensed technology helps us print small runs and not sacrifice on the quality
that our customers expect.”
For one project, Eshuis printed a new wrap-around label design for a global soft drink company, which uses a
highly identifiable red PANTONE Color to represent their brand. Technically, it could have easily been printed in
flexo, but because they were asked to produce only 1,500 pieces, it proved much more cost effective to use the
Indigo press and still achieve the highest level of color accuracy that was demanded.
Using the Digital Color Toolbox developed by HP and Pantone, Inc., printers like Eshuis can easily predict how
PANTONE Colors will reproduce. Overbeek says Eshuis has found that this practice makes the entire process
predictable and easy, allowing them to demonstrate how digital printing can be used without compromising the
color accuracy required by their customers.

Press can accurately reproduce PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM and PANTONE Goe Colors. For more details on
