Final Report, SONS Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill, Gulf of Mexico, 27 April — 24 September 2010<br />

GPC personnel continued assisting in receiving and offloading of CNIC equipment.<br />

Note: Total oil recovered to date: VOSS offshore - 18,340 barrels and Class V Skimmers nearshore<br />

- 1966 barrels.<br />

Minimal skimming operations were conducted due to local storms.<br />

The Pecos barge, with two Class V Skimmers on board and four spud/jack-up barges with five<br />

Class V Skimmers on board (assigned to near-shore Task Force under ICP Mobile), operated<br />

between Pascagoula and Pensacola skimming sporadic oil pockets and streams.<br />

OSV Bayou Bee continued skimmer offload and maintenance.<br />

GPC personnel and OSV Caspian were in port in Venice due to rough weather; equipment<br />

loadout was conducted for future oil containment operations.<br />

GPC personnel onshore in Grand Isle continued to support near-shore recovery operations.<br />

GPC personnel repositioned two of the four Class V Skimmers at the Rigolets (Lake<br />

Pontchartrain area) further east in Mississippi Sound and were on hold for weather.<br />

OSVs MV John Coghill, AHTS Vanguard, and MV Renee were in port due to rough weather.<br />

Tropical Storm Alex did not directly affect the Deepwater Horizon Operation area, but high<br />

winds and rough seas resulting from the storm’s passage to the southwest were expected to<br />

preclude offshore skimming until late in the week.<br />

SUPSALV OSR equipment and 134 personnel were positioned throughout Panama City,<br />

Pensacola, Mobile, Bayou La Batre, Pascagoula, Gulfport, Ship Island, Slidell, Venice, and Port<br />

Fourchon/Grand Isle.<br />

SUPSALV continued coordinating operations from Gulfport (at State Pier) positioning,<br />

maintaining, and operating SUPSALV OSR equipment assets as directed by the USCG FOSC.<br />

The total SUPSALV Oil Containment Boom in GOMEX to date was 98,000′ with 63,200′ of<br />

boom deployed.<br />

Seventeen of eighteen Class V Skimming Systems, one Class XI Skimmer System, and four of<br />

four High Speed Current Buster VOSS with crews were positioned at the USCG designated<br />

locations.<br />

GPC personnel continued assisting the CNIC management team in receiving and offloading.<br />
