SILVERSULFADIAZINE:<br />

Chemically, it is a comb<strong>in</strong>ation of silver ion and<br />

sulfadiaz<strong>in</strong>e <strong>in</strong> 1% water-soluble cream .<br />

Mode of action.<br />

effective aga<strong>in</strong>st Pseudomonas, E.coliand Candida. Less<br />

effective aga<strong>in</strong>st Staphylococcus aureusand some stra<strong>in</strong>s<br />

of Klebsiella.<br />

Antibacterial potency has been demonstrated for upto<br />

24 hours. The presence of thick creamy exudates on the<br />

wound is common s<strong>in</strong>ce the silver b<strong>in</strong>ds with prote<strong>in</strong> and<br />

resultant material looks like pus.<br />
