Welcome to our annual production sale! Troy and I greatly appreciate the fact that you are taking the time 

to study our sale offering. We feel this year’s sale offering brings to you genetic opportunities that are the 

result of a decade of hard work and an extremely disciplined breeding strategy. Without a doubt, this sale 

offering begins a new era for Callaway Farms and is just the beginning of many more powerful “valueadded” 

Angus cattle from us. 

As in the past, our goal is to propagate breed-leading Angus genetics based on valve-added traits. Cattle 

without these traits are just more black cattle and that is not what we are about here at Callaway Farms. We 

believe our philosophy provides more profitability for the beef industry, as well as providing the consumer 

with the greatest eating experience. 

For those of you who choose to come to our sale, you will find cattle with genetics to create profitability; 

as well as cows that are “debugged,” fertile, and culled if not capable of producing enough pounds to pay 

the bills. 

Finally, after years of 100% AI, disciplined purchases for our nucleus herd, and hours of measuring 

performance, we are proud to offer you cattle like Lot 1, “Callaway’s Miss 0864.” “0864” did not happen 

by accident! She is the result of a breeding strategy. Thanks to Galen Fink for providing us with our original 

nucleus purchase, Finks Miss 4168 8130 5204, one of the greatest purchases we have made. “0864” is a 

very special donor: 38th ranked dam for $Beef at +68.42, top 1% for WW, Milk, Marb, RE, and Wean, 

$Grid, and $QG. In addition, she has seven progeny scanned that ratio 112 for IMF, 107 for RE, and 89 for 

rump fat. Now for those of you who think value added cattle have no eye appeal or fleshing ability... we 

cordially invite you to come and take a look because we disagree!

First let me tell you how honored I am to have the opportunity to write this letter and bring this 

sale offering to you for the third year in a row. This offering is as deep as I have ever seen for 

functional cows, cow families, and balanced EPDs. The elite donors, flushes, bred heifers and E.T. 

progeny were a sure joy for me to list. 

The 0864 female is one of the best and most complete donor females in the breed today. Not 

only is she super attractive and beautiful uddered, but she has an unbelievable progeny production 

record and an awesome flush record. The 421P is an up-and-comer, the G240 female will add 

as much IMF as any female I have ever worked with, 2532 will become a household name and 

the 2251 female looks to be the best sister out there to the number 1 $Beef bull Ambush 28. The 

pregnancies are second to none. They are out of the number 1 $Beef female, 1031 as well as the 

number 3 Marbling female GB16. The E.T. calves are out of some best Angus females to ever set 

foot on Callaway Farms. My favorite part of the offering though is the powerful set of bred heifers. 

The 1335, 1356, 1311, 1332, 1401 and 1340 heifers are females that you can build entire programs
