• Biogeochimia şi ecotoxicologia metalelor, evaluare de risc, bioremedierea zonelor poluate cu metale, circuitul
azotului, în particular denitrificarea
• Analiza funcţională a zonelor umede, proiectarea reţelei ecologice pentru Sistemul Dunării Inferioare
• Metodologia de identificare a sistemelor socio-ecologice, evoluţia instituţiilor, filosofia biologiei, modelarea
matematică a sistemelor socio-ecologice
1.3 Publicaţii (anexa 1 Lista publicaţiilor). Am publicat singur sau ca şi coautor:
a) 3 articole in reviste cotate ISI şi 3 în reviste indexate ISI, 15 citări ISI, indice Hirsch 2
b) alte 52 de articole in reviste şi volume ale unor conferinţe naţionale şi internaţionale.
c) 9 cărţi şi capitole în cărţi de interes ştiinţific la edituri internaţionale şi nationale.

1.4 Recunoaşterea expertizei. Am participat la peste 35 de evenimente ştiinţifice, din care la cinci ca vorbitor
invitat şi la trei ca chairman. Am organizat un workshop pe problema identificării sistemelor socio-ecologice. Sunt
implicat in coordonarea unui consortiu national de instituţii pentru biogeochimia microelementelor. Premii pentru
cercetare din partea Universităţii din Bucureşti 2006, bursă pentru vizită didactic-cercetare în Germania - DAAD
2007. Fac parte din organizaţiile profesionale Asociaţia Internaţională a Dunării,Societatea Română de Ecologie.
Am evaluat articole pentru revistele cotate ISI Archiv fur Hydrobiologie şi Chemie der Erde, Applied Mathematical
Modeling şi proiecte pentru programele CNCSIS şi CEEX, PNCDI2 şi ERA-NET Snowman.

Am organizat ca responsabil de grant activităţile unor proiecte de cercetare cu
buget de până la 40000 Euro (FP6) si 2000000 RON (PN2). Am fost implicat în
activităţile pentru constituirea unui laborator nou prin cooperarea a doua centre de
cercetare ale Universităţii din Bucureşti. Am fost implicat in crearea unui consortiu
national de institutii in domeniul biogeochimiei microlementelor.
