( 仮 訳 )7 月 3 日 と4 日 に 開 催 されるアメリカフェスト2009で、 特 別 企 画 としてF-22 航 空
機 も 展 示 されることになりました。
会 場 では、 航 空 自 衛 隊 所 属 機 を 含 む28 機 以 上 の 航 空 機 や 装 備 品 等 が 展 示 され、4
日 の 一 般 公 開 の 日 にもご 覧 いただけます。ご 来 場 の 方 は、F-15 戦 闘 機 、F-16 戦 闘 機 、E-
3 空 中 管 制 機 、P-3 哨 戒 機 、A-10 航 空 機 、 HH-60 救 難 ヘリコプターそしてパトリオット
ミサイル 装 備 品 をご 覧 いただけます。
会 場 ではLt Dan Bandやアメリカンアイドルからメリンダ・ドゥーリトルによる
ライブコンサートもあり、その 他 音 楽 、ゲーム、 出 店 も 用 意 しております。
アメリカフェスト 実 行 委 員 長 のスコット・ジャービス 大 佐 は、「アメリカフェス
ト2009は、 第 18 航 空 団 そして 嘉 手 納 基 地 にとって、 基 地 を 開 放 して 地 元 の 皆 様 を 迎 え
る 貴 重 な 機 会 となるでしょう。これを 機 会 に、 基 地 の 任 務 、 航 空 機 、 航 空 兵 たち、また、
沖 縄 で 勤 務 する 陸 軍 、 海 軍 、 海 兵 隊 そして 自 衛 隊 について 理 解 を 深 めていただければと
思 います」と 話 し、「 独 立 記 念 日 にあわせてイベントを 主 催 し、 日 米 両 国 のために 西 太
平 洋 地 域 の 安 定 を 確 実 にするため、 日 々 基 地 の 任 務 を 支 える 要 員 やその 家 族 らの 勤 労 と
奉 仕 を 評 価 し、 敬 意 と 感 謝 を 表 したい」と、 話 しました。
3 日 は 軍 人 ・ 軍 属 その 家 族 を 対 象 としますが、4 日 ( 土 )は 午 前 11 時 より 午 後 8
時 までゲートを 一 般 開 放 し、 来 場 の 皆 様 に 嘉 手 納 基 地 の 任 務 についてご 紹 介 します。
車 両 でお 越 しの 皆 様 、 県 道 74 号 線 沿 いにある 臨 時 ゲートまたは 国 道 58 号 沿 いに
ある 第 4ゲート( 嘉 手 納 町 水 釜 )から 基 地 飛 行 場 へ 入 場 できます。また、 基 地 内 駐 車 場
を 利 用 されない 方 々には、 第 3ゲート 近 くにあるチバナ・ゴルフコースから 会 場 まで 結
ぶ 無 料 シャトルバスが 正 午 より20 分 毎 に 運 行 します。
入 場 の 際 、お 持 ち 込 みの 荷 物 全 てについて 検 査 をいたします。 大 型 の 鞄 、バック
パック(リュックサック)、 刃 物 類 の 持 ち 込 みはご 遠 慮 ください。 簡 易 型 ベビーカー 及
び 傘 は 持 ち 込 み 可 能 です。ペットの 同 伴 はご 遠 慮 ください。 会 場 内 でのローラーシュー
ズやスケートボード 等 の 使 用 は 禁 止 されています。
来 場 予 定 の 皆 様 には、 歩 きやすい 靴 や 日 焼 け 止 めをお 勧 めします。 飲 料 水 、ソフ
トドリンク、ビール 等 は 会 場 で 購 入 可 能 です。ビール 販 売 は21 歳 以 上 の 方 を 対 象 とし
ています。 会 場 は 禁 煙 です。

嘉 手 納 基 地 アメリカフェストは、 地 元 の 方 々と 嘉 手 納 基 地 に 勤 めるアメリカ 人 と
の 友 好 と 理 解 を 深 めることを 目 的 としています。 会 場 では 航 空 機 の 展 示 、 乗 員 との 交 流 、
ステージでの 音 楽 、そしていろいろな 食 べ 物 をお 楽 しみいただけます。

KADENA AIR BASE, OKINAWA – The F-22 Raptor aircraft will be one of the featured
attractions at AmericaFest 2009 here July 3 and 4.
More than 28 aircraft, including Japan Self Defense Force aircraft, and other equipment
will be on display at the event, which will be open to the public July 4. Some of the
aircraft visitors will see include the: F-15, KC-135, F-16, E-3, P-3, A-10, HH-60 and the
PAC-3.
The festival will also feature live concerts from the Lt. Dan Band, featuring Gary Sinise,
and American Idol Star Melinda Doolittle. Visitors will enjoy music, games and food.
"AmericaFest 2009 presents a unique opportunity for the 18th Wing and Kadena
Air Base to open its doors to our friends and partners in the local community and
provide an up-close view of not only our mission, our aircraft and our Airmen, but also a
look at the Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Japanese Self-Defense Force missions on
Okinawa," said Col. Scott Jarvis, AmericaFest Director. "We also want to take the
opportunity of a long holiday weekend to host a special event for all the men, women
and their families who are stationed in Okinawa. Their service and sacrifice to help
ensure the stability of the Western Pacific region for both our nations are well
recognized and we owe them our continued gratitude and thanks."
Friday, July 3rd, is specifically set aside as an appreciation day for military members,
base civilian employees, and military families. Festivities begin at 3 p.m. Saturday, July
4th, gates will open to the general public at 11 a.m. to come out and learn first-hand
about the mission of Kadena Air Base. The gates will close to inbound traffic at 8 p.m.
Those driving to see the festivities, island residents and other guests may enter the
base through the contractor gate from Route 74 or through Gate 4 from Route 58 onto
the flightline. A free shuttle bus will also run from Chibana Golf Course beginning at
noon and running every 20 minutes, for those who desire to park off base. On both
days DOD civilians and military ID card holders may access Kadena Air Base through
either gates 1, 2, 3 or 4.
All bags carried onto the installation will be subject to search. Visitors are asked not to
carry large purses, backpacks, any knives or weapons, scissors or sharp objects.
Lightweight baby strollers and umbrellas are permitted at the AmericaFest, but pets,
skateboards and heeleys are not allowed.
Remember to wear comfortable walking shoes and sunscreen. Beverages will be sold
during the event including water, soft drinks and beer. Beer will only be sold to people
ages 21 and older. Smoking is prohibited.

AmericaFest is designed to promote friendship and foster mutual appreciation and
understanding between the local community and American's assigned to Kadena Air
Base. Visitors will see static aircraft displays, interact with flight crew, listen to musical
performances and have the opportunity to sample a wide variety of foods.
