VIRACON INTRODUCES THE NEWEST ADDITION TO OUR
LOW-E HIGH PERFORMANCE GLASS FAMILY
VE-45, a new low emissivity coating by Viracon, offers improved balance between visible light transmittance,
solar control, and enhanced U-values. Not only has the performance been optimized, but the color can enhance
the aesthetics of a building’s glass façade. Additionally, the VE-45 coating can be used in combination
with a silk-screen, which allows the designer to create a customized look along with enhanced performance.
The solar and optical data presented is center-of-glass data based on the National Fenestration Rating Council measurement standards. They were calculated using
Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory’s (LBNL) WINDOW 5.2/6.3 software. The values shown are nominal. They may vary due to manufacturing tolerances.
1. The performance data above applies to insulating glass units with two plies (clear inboard) of 1/4” (6mm) glass and 1/2” (13mm) air space or argon space. Viracon VE- 45 is applied to
the second (#2) surface. If Optiwhite (#24) glass is used, both plies of the unit are the Optiwhite substrate.
2. If VE-45 is applied to tinted glass, the glass must be heat treated.
3. If VE-45 is applied to clear glass, contact Viracon’s Technical Services Department to determine the possibility of using annealed glass.
4. Available in maximum dimensions of 84” x 144” (2134mm x 3658mm). Note: The maximum size for annealed glass under any condition is 50 sq ft (4.65 sq m). Maximum size for heat
treated glass under any condition is 65 sq ft (6.04 sq m).
*The images on this flyer are provided as a reference of the visual aesthetics of different coating types. Sky conditions, viewing angle and other factors influence your aesthetic perception.
Viracon recommends viewing actual glass samples prior to final product selection.
