This is a great chance to introduce
your child to team play in a fun,
structured environment. A smaller
scale soccer field results in modified
play with five players and a goalie
on the field. Each team will have 10
players. All games and practices will take place at Harvester
Park on the Middle Field. Coaches: In order for this program
to be successful, we will need parents to volunteer as coaches.
The Park District will provide an official for each game,
but parental involvement is essential. Soccer expertise is not
required. We will provide you with an orientation and assistance
at the first two practice meetings. Structure: The first
two weeks will consist of practices run by the Park District.
The following four weeks will be games. Statistics & standings
will not be kept. All participants receive a participation
trophy. Children should wear appropriate safety equipment
on their legs. BR

Fee $45 ($47.50)
Our Indoor Recreational Soccer League enters its 30th year.
Instruction includes soccer basics: passing, shooting, ball
control, dribbling as well as game strategies. In-house teams
and games will follow. The program fee includes a team
shirt. All participants meet at Gower Middle School Gym on
Monday, January 11. Bring a well marked soccer ball to
practice. Note: All players must wear shin guards, and a
water bottle. Please register by Friday, January 6 to allow
for league planning.

Six week session! Searching for a great introduction to basketball
for your child These programs focus on basic fundamentals
with scaled down basketball and lower nets.
Basic ball handling, passing, and shooting skills will be

Players (boys and girls) will get their first taste of "league" orientated
basketball. The philosophy of the program is to
teach all participants the basic skills and strategies of basketball
and to guarantee each player an equal amount of
playing time through rule modifications. The first two meetings
are for practice and team orientation. All games will be
officiated. Each player will receive a team jersey. Volunteer
