Each week participants will be divided into teams for game play. Rules will vary according to the instructor’s discretion. All players will receive a shirt. The league uses "Gatorskin" indoor balls. Contestants will be given 90 seconds to see how many goals they can score. Winners will get pumpkin (or other) pie from Bakers Square and gift certificates from Target. BR WB Min/Max 5/20 per division Volleyball Leagues Sundays Hinsdale South High School October 25 – December 13 Grades 3-5 5:00 – 6:30pm Boys & Girls Fee $80 ($85) Code VB3-1 This league focuses on the fundamental skills of volleyball during the 1st weeks and then the participants are placed onto teams for matches. All players receive a program shirt and snacks from week to week. Teams practice on Wednesday evenings, 6:15-7:15pm at Burr Ridge Middle School. BR, Dist. 86 Instructors Park District Staff Min/Max 4/6 teams Grades 6-8 6:30 – 8:00pm Boys & Girls Fee $80 ($85) Code VB3-2 Sign-up as an individual or as a team! Teams will practice on the first three nights and games start on October 26. The season features 8-10 matches with prize giveaway nights, playoffs and exciting extras that cannot be found anywhere else. Teams practice on Wednesday evenings, 7:15-8:15pm at Burr Ridge Middle School. Match times are 7pm. The program includes a team jersey. Bumper Bowling Ages 5-10 Tuesdays Willowbrook Lanes October 13 – November 17 3:45 – 5:00pm Fee $85 ($90) Code YS5 During this one hour time "frame," each player will enjoy the friendly indoor atmosphere of Willowbrook Lanes (located on Plainfield Road, east of Rt. 83). Bumper bowling gives kids an opportunity to be successful at bowling without the ol' gutter ball. Rental shoes are included in the fee. Participants are asked to bring their appetite for a pizza party on the final day. Register for bowling at Burr Ridge Park District. BR, WB Instructor Park Staff Min/Max 10/20 Golf Lessons Beginners & Intermediates September 29 – October 27 Tuesdays 6:00 – 7:00pm Hinsdale South Sports Ages 14 & up Fee $65 ($70) Code GF2 Classes meet in the gymnasium balcony at Hinsdale South HIgh School. Class is designed for those who have had several sessions of golf instruction and who are beginning to learn the techniques used in golf. Proper swing, stance, purpose of each club, and golf etiquette will be taught. All clubs are covered including the sand wedge & putter. Bring a 9 iron to the 1st class. Those who have completed Junior Golf Lessons are eligible. The final class will be a round of golf at Twin Lakes Golf Course in Westmont, which is included in the class fee. Badminton Ages 11-14 Tuesdays & Thursdays September 15 – October 22 6:30 – 8:00pm Gower Middle School Fee $55 ($60) Code BM1 Learn the basic fundamentals, rules, and game strategies of Badminton from one of the areas best players, Carissa Niemann. Participants also play matches and weekly tournaments. The program includes a shirt and weekly snacks. Dog Obedience Training Teens and Adults 8 week session begins September 10 7:00 – 7:45pm Fee $125 Puppies/dogs 10 weeks and up can benefit from this basic training course. Classes teach dog and owner the basics of control through positive reinforcement. Some control exercises covered are: heel (controlled walk), stay, come, down, off leash walking. Topics discussed include chewing, barking, jumping, biting and housebreaking. Advanced control exercises will be covered with those dogs having some training experience. All dogs must be current on shots. First class is without your dog. Bring a collar, leash, treats and a plastic bag.
