The success of the Burr Ridge Park District Tennis
program rests on the
shoulders of Joe
Zalud. As a credit to
Joe's ability as an
instructor, enrollment
in classes has reached
highs for several years.
Our goal is to provide
the benefits of playing
tennis – the sport of a
lifetime!
Joe has been teaching in the area for over 25 years.
In high school, he was a ranked player and an MVP.
In college, Joe won a state championship, competed
on a nationally ranked team, majored in business,
and performed graduate work. In addition to his
playing career, Joe has run clinics with Vic Braden
and Arthur Ashe.
Placement & Progression
Beginners
For the inexperienced player who wants to
learn basic skills. Learn basic strokes and
how to keep score.
Advanced Beginners
For players who have completed recent lesson
and are familiar with basic strokes.
Review basics and learn some strategy.
Intermediate & Advanced
For those who play on a regular basis and
have reasonably steady strokes. Drill oriented
lessons covering shots and strategies used
in competitive play.

When registering by mail or fax, please call
the Park District to verify that your registration
was received by the last business day
prior to the first class.
Please Note
Gym/Tennis shoes (no black soled
shoes please) racquet, and a water
bottle are requested for all lessons.

Youngsters learn the basic strokes of tennis to prepare them for the next
level. Specially designed drills and games allow players to have fun while

Students will be introduced to tennis at a very introductory level in a semiprivate
setting. Emphasis will be on fun and games as a precursor to pee
wee tennis. Guardian must remain on site during the lessons. BR
