Tutoring keeps your student on track during <strong>the</strong> school year.<br />
Math is one of <strong>the</strong> most important skills to master in elementary<br />
and middle school. Students will learn reasoning<br />
skills, <strong>the</strong> importance of both <strong>the</strong> question and <strong>the</strong> answer,<br />
how to explain why numbers work and how to attach real<br />
world meaning with problem solving exercises. Emphasis will<br />
be on mental math skills development.<br />

Instructor Abbas Jaffary has been a tutor with <strong>the</strong> <strong>Burr</strong> <strong>Ridge</strong><br />
<strong>Park</strong> <strong>District</strong> since August 2006, teaching all levels of<br />
Ma<strong>the</strong>matics & Elementary Science both on site and at an<br />
after-school program at Gower West Elementary in<br />
Willowbrook. Abbas has a B.S. in Ma<strong>the</strong>matics from <strong>the</strong><br />
University of Illinois at Chicago and an M.S. in Applied<br />
Ma<strong>the</strong>matics.<br />
Mr. Jaffary understands that every child learns in his/her own<br />
way and that learning is a creative problem-solving process,<br />
no matter what discipline. He incorporates many of his own<br />
interests in music, art, computers and business into lesson<br />
plans that explain how science and math are used every<br />
