Early Childhood Enrichment Burr Ridge Park District preschool age classes follow the standards and recommendations set forth by the Illinois Early Childhood Standards and Benchmarks to prepare children for kindergarten. Too Much Fun Fine motor skills enhancement Social development Mother Goose add-on Ages 2 – 3 years without parent (Maximum Class Size: 10) Tuesdays 9:45 – 11:00am Fee $40 ($45) per 3/week session Burr Ridge Community Center This theme-based program will help prepare your child for preschool. Every week we’ll work to enhance fine and gross motor skills development as we play games, do crafts, read books and have a snack. Kids do not have to be potty trained but parents must be accessible by phone to change diapers/pull-ups. Too Much Fun is an excellent add-on program for Mother Goose. Our Core Preschool/Pre-Kindergarten programs meet and exceed all the requirements set forth by local elementary schools. Our Core Program focuses on the essentials; the Extended Learning Program enriches the essentials. 3 Year Olds 5 – 8 students per class Little Bookworms Mondays 9:00 – 11:30am Fee $18 per class Literature based classes. Long before children can read books they need to master key skills that will help them make sense of all those black squiggles on the page. We will focus on the key components of reading readiness: familiarity with print and books, letter recognition, sounds of speech and phonemic awareness.
