integer<br />

A number written without a fractional or decimal component. 15 and<br />

7956 are integers; 1.5 and 79.56 are not.<br />

intermediate storage<br />

The portion of memory allocated for the storage of results of<br />

intermediate calculations necessary for operations such as averages or<br />

standard deviations. Intermediate storage is not accessible to the user.<br />

IP<br />

Internet Protocol. A TCP/IP internet protocol.<br />

IP address<br />

A unique address for a device on the internet.<br />

IP Trace<br />

IP trace is a <strong>CR1000</strong> function associated with IP data transmissions. In<br />

the evolution of the <strong>CR1000</strong> operating system, IP trace information was<br />

originally accessed through the CRBasic instruction IPTrace() (p. 166) and<br />

stored in a string variable. As the operating system progressed, the<br />

need for a more convenient repository arose. As a result, the Files<br />

Manager (p. 540) setting was modified to allow for the creation of a file on<br />

a <strong>CR1000</strong> memory drive, such as USR:, to store IP trace information in a<br />

ring memory format.<br />

"Keep" Memory<br />

Memory preserved through reset due to power‐up and program startup.<br />

keyboard display<br />

The <strong>CR1000</strong>KD is the optional keyboard display for use with the <strong>CR1000</strong><br />

datalogger.<br />

Line feed<br />

local variable<br />

A variable available for use only by the subroutine wherein it was<br />

declared. The term differentiates local variables, which are declared in<br />

the Sub() and Function() instructions, from global variables, which are<br />

declared using Public or Dim.<br />
