Com port<br />

COM is a generic name given to physical and virtual serial<br />

communications ports.<br />

CompactFlash<br />

CompactFlash ® (CF) is a memory‐card technology utilized by <strong>Campbell</strong><br />

<strong>Scientific</strong> card‐storage modules. CompactFlash ® is a registered<br />

trademark of the CompactFlash ® Association.<br />

Compile<br />

The software process of converting human‐readable program code to<br />

binary machine code. <strong>CR1000</strong> user programs are compiled internally by<br />

the <strong>CR1000</strong> operating system.<br />

constant<br />

A connector is a device that allows one or more electron conduits<br />

(wires, traces, leads, etc) to be connected or disconnected as a group. A<br />

connector consists of two parts — male and female. For example, a<br />

common household ac power receptacle is the female portion of a<br />

connector. The plug at the end of a lamp power cord is the male<br />

portion of the connector. See terminal (p. 468).<br />

constant<br />

A packet of <strong>CR1000</strong> memory given an alpha‐numeric name and assigned<br />

a fixed number.<br />

control I/O<br />

Terminals C1 ‐ C8 or processes utilizing these terminals.<br />

CoraScript<br />

CoraScript is a command‐line interpreter associated with LoggerNet<br />

datalogger support software. Refer to the LoggerNet manual, available<br />

at www.campbellsci.com, for more information.<br />

CPU<br />

Central processing unit. The brains of the <strong>CR1000</strong>.<br />

<strong>CR1000</strong>KD<br />

An optional hand‐held keyboard display for use with the <strong>CR1000</strong> and<br />

CR800 dataloggers. See the appendix Keyboard Display (p. 567).<br />
