The <strong>CR1000</strong> automatically runs an FTP server. This allows Windows Explorer to<br />

access the <strong>CR1000</strong> file system via FTP, with drives on the <strong>CR1000</strong> being mapped<br />

into directories or folders. The root directory on the <strong>CR1000</strong> can be any drive.<br />

USR: is a drive created by the user-allocating memory to the USR: drive in the<br />

USRDriveSize field of the Status table or in the USR: Drive Size box on the<br />

Deployment | Advanced tab of the <strong>CR1000</strong> service in DevConfig. Files on the<br />

<strong>CR1000</strong> are contained on one of these directories. Files can be copied / pasted<br />

between drives. Files can be deleted through FTP.<br />

The <strong>CR1000</strong> can act as an FTP Client to send a file or get a file from an FTP<br />

server, such as another datalogger or web camera. This is done using the CRBasic<br />

FTPClient() instruction. Refer to a manual for a <strong>Campbell</strong> <strong>Scientific</strong> network link<br />

(see the appendix Network Links (p. 567) ), available at www.campbellsci.com, or<br />

CRBasic Editor Help for details and sample programs.<br />

Telnet is used to access the same commands that are available through the support<br />

software terminal emulator (p. 468). Start a Telnet session by opening a DOS<br />

command prompt and type in:<br />

Telnet xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx <br />

where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the IP address of the network device connected to the<br />

<strong>CR1000</strong>.<br />

Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is a part of the IP suite used by<br />

NTCIP and RWIS for monitoring road conditions. The <strong>CR1000</strong> supports SNMP<br />

when a network device is attached.<br />

Ping can be used to verify that the IP address for the network device connected to<br />

the <strong>CR1000</strong> is reachable. To use the Ping tool, open a command prompt on a<br />

computer connected to the network and type in:<br />

ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx <br />

where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the IP address of the network device connected to the<br />

<strong>CR1000</strong>.<br />
