Dear Parents, Guardians and Students,
Thank you for your interest in the OTC Dual Credit program. Dual credit is a great opportunity for your
student to earn high school and college credit at a fraction of the cost, without ever leaving their high
school.
We are pleased to present OTC Online Dual Credit. This is a terrific program that allows high schools that
do not offer in-person dual credit classes to offer their students the opportunity to earn college credit.
How does online dual credit work
Online dual credit students, integrated with traditional college students, will experience the rigor of
college-level courses while earning high school and college credit simultaneously.
Students will be in a classroom at the high school working on their online dual credit courses.
Online dual credit students are expected to follow OTC’s Academic Calendar, which means sometimes
an assignment could be due when the high school is not in session.
Tuition for dual credit courses is $70 per credit hour plus a $65 per course online fee (for online classes).
Students can make payment once they are registered. Registration begins August 1 st . Payment is due by
August 22 nd , 2013. Payment information can be found below.
Classes begin August 19 th , 2013.
More information can be found at www.otc.edu/dualcredit. Please feel free to contact me with any
questions you may have at 417-447-8198 or greenek@otc.edu.
Sincerely,
Kim Greene
Coordinator for Dual Credit

Parent Information
If your student decides to enroll in an online dual credit course, you will need to understand the
information below and give permission to your student on their registration form.

Students are enrolled until they complete the registration process.
Students who participate will be enrolled in college courses with other college students and be
expected to perform at a college level.
If enrolled in an online dual credit course, the student is expected to follow the Academic
Calendar set by OTC and be aware that assignments may be due when their high school is not in
session.
A 3.0 cumulative GPA is the pre-requisite to enroll in Dual Credit.
Final grades will be assigned at the end of each semester the student is enrolled. These credits
are transferable.
If a registered dual credit student drops the course, the student must complete the proper
drop/withdraw forms at OTC.
Student must heed to the payment deadlines and pay in full or make a payment plan be the
deadline or they will be dropped from their class, which could also affect earning of high school
credits.
