NOTE: Hay MUST be tied and exhibited in either<br />
a cardboard or wooden box. Suggested size<br />
of box - 4 inches by 18 inches by 22 inches. The<br />
exhibitor must supply the box.<br />
Class 20 - Tallest Weed grown in 2013.<br />
NOTE: Weed must be a plant that is commonly<br />
considered a pest in growing crop fields.<br />
Class 21 – Other Farm Crop. Entry should be<br />
similar in size to another comparable<br />
class in this department.<br />
Class 22 - Farm Rocks, Plate (9”) of five. Maximum<br />
3” diameter rocks. Must be from<br />
grain or hay field.<br />
NOTE: Through the courtesy of the Hardin<br />
County Agricultural Society, a rosette will be<br />
given to the Best of Show, Reserve Best of Show,<br />
and 3rd Best of Show in classes 2-15.<br />

RULES: (For Class 17 only)<br />
1. Display to include 2-3 pieces of each type of<br />
fruit and/or vegetable selected.<br />
2. Display to be arranged in an appropriate container<br />
of the exhibitors choice. Container<br />
should be appropriate to size of display and<br />
will be left at owner’s risk.<br />
3. Display should be creatively decorated to enhance<br />
appearance.<br />
4. Exhibits judged on produce quality (60%)<br />
and display creativity (40%).<br />
NOTE: Through the courtesy of the Hardin<br />

given to the Best of Show and Reserve Best of<br />

3. Limit of one (1) entry per children’s classes<br />
(Class 51-61).<br />
4. Remove all stems from tomato entries; stems<br />
damage the fruit.<br />
5 Trim all tops on carrots, beets, turnips, etc.,<br />
to about 1 inch.<br />
6. Trim stems on winter and summer squash to<br />
about 1 inch.<br />
7. Trim stems on onions to about 1 inch and DO<br />
NOT PEEL. Clean soil from existing peel.<br />
8. Keep a minimum of a 2-inch stem on pumpkins<br />
and all gourds.<br />
9. Keep stems intact on all cucumbers.<br />
10. CLEAN all vegetables appropriately, NO wax<br />
or oil!
