PREMIUMS:<br />

A Grade – $2.50; B Grade – $2.00; C Grade –<br />

$1.50<br />

General Regulations and Requirements apply<br />

All poultry must strictly adhere to the rules<br />

found in General Regulations 901:1-18-05. Any<br />

poultry failing to meet these requirements will<br />

not be allowed to unload at the fair.<br />

Poultry must present evidence of proper testing<br />

or exemptions before unloading on Monday.<br />

NOTE: Superintendents reserve the right to<br />

withhold premium money from exhibitors<br />

showing dirty livestock or maintaining dirty<br />

pens. All Junior Fair Poultry exhibitors must<br />

clean pens and remove manure and bedding<br />

material from the buildings before leaving on<br />

Sunday. An amount equivalent to the members<br />

premiums will be deducted from Jr. Fair<br />

Livestock Sale checks of those exhibitors<br />

who do not comply.<br />

JUNIOR <strong>FAIR</strong> POULTRY<br />

Class 1 – Pen of Three Meat Chickens. For members<br />

carrying Broiler Project. Birds must<br />

weigh between 3 1/2 pounds and 7 pounds,<br />

hatched on or after July 1, 2013.<br />

Class 2 - Commercial Turkey, single. For members<br />

carrying turkey project. Birds must be<br />

large white, weighing 20 lbs or more, hatched<br />

on or after April 15, 2013<br />

Class 3 – Call Ducks. Single, either sex<br />

Class 4 – Ducks. Lightweight breeds. Buff,<br />

Campbell, Cayuga, Crested, East Indie, Magpie,<br />

Mallard, Runner, Swedish. Single, either<br />

sex.<br />

Class 5 – Ducks, Heavyweight breeds: Aylesbury,<br />

Muscovy, Pekin, Rouen. Single, either<br />

sex.<br />

Class 6 – Commercial Ducks, single, either sex.<br />

Bird must weigh between 4 1/2 and 9<br />

pounds, hatched on or after July 1, 2013.<br />

Class 7 – Geese. Single either sex.<br />

Class 8 – Pullets, Pen of 3. For members carrying<br />

Poultry Production Project one or more<br />

years. Birds hatched from April 1 to April 30,<br />

2013.<br />

Class 9 – Layers, Pen of 3. For members carrying<br />

Poultry Production Projects for two or<br />

more years. Females in production under 30<br />

months old.<br />

Class 10 – Decorative Turkey. Single, either sex.<br />

Class 11 – Bantam Pair. Pair must be of same<br />

breed. Consisting of one hen and one rooster.<br />

Class 12 – Standard Pair. Must be of same<br />

breed. Consisting of one hen and one rooster.<br />

Class 13 – Bantam Single Hen, any breed<br />

Class 14 - Bantam Single Rooster, any breed<br />

Class 15 - Standard Single Hen, any breed<br />

Class 16 - Standard Single Rooster, any breed<br />

FUN CLASSES<br />

Class 17 - Rooster Crowing - fun class.<br />

Class 18 - Best Dressed Chicken - fun class.<br />

SHOWMANSHIP:<br />

Senior – 15 and over on day of show<br />

Intermediate – 13-14 the day of show<br />

Junior – 10-12 on the day of show<br />

Beginner - 8-9 on the day of show<br />

Senior winner eligible to participate in Showman<br />

of Showmen contest Saturday, Sept. 8 at<br />

8:00 P.M.<br />

PEE WEE SHOWMANSHIP:<br />

(No entry fee or advanced entry needed)<br />

For all boys and girls 8 and under who are too<br />

young to join 4-H. Animal need not be owned by<br />

exhibitor’s family. Animal must also be shown in<br />

Jr. Fair show, no haul-ins allowed. Awards and<br />

ribbons to all entries.<br />

RULES:<br />

1. Turkeys, chickens and game birds are subject<br />

to a negative blood test and inspection by the<br />

fair veterinarian, if not obtained from a certified<br />

NPIP hatchery or having a NPIP form15.<br />

2. Pen of Three Meat Chickens. A meat pen consists<br />

of three white Cornish x Rock chickens<br />

hatched on or before July 1, 2013 with each<br />

bird weighing between 3 1/2 lbs and 7 lbs.<br />

Weigh-in will follow rabbit weigh-in by 6:30<br />

p.m. Monday, September 2. All poultry eligible<br />

must be present at the poultry weigh-in.<br />

3. Commercial ducks must be hatched after July<br />

1, 2013 with the bird weighing between 4 1/2<br />

and 9 pounds. This class does not go through<br />

the sale on Saturday.<br />

4. Commercial Turkey is a single bird entry. All<br />

birds in this class must be large whites<br />

weighing 20 lbs or more, hatched on or after<br />

April 15, 2013 and be cane trained. All<br />

turkeys eligible must be present at the weighin<br />

on Monday, September 2, 2013 following<br />

the rabbit weigh-in by 6:30 p.m.<br />

5. Exhibitors are limited to one entry in all classes<br />

except classes 3, 4, 5, 7, 11 and 12, in<br />

which two entries are permitted and can be<br />

any breed appropriate to the class.<br />

6. Poultry pens are to be cleaned on a daily basis.<br />

7. Poultry showmanship exhibitors must show<br />

their own project bird.<br />

8. Bedding will not be provided.<br />

9. Dismissal time, Sunday, 7:00 p.m.<br />
