NEW HORSE RULE:<br />

The Hardin County Agricultural Society requires<br />

horse helmets be worn by all participants<br />

age 19 and under in junior fair and<br />

open class horse shows.<br />

“All youth age 19 and under, participating<br />

in any 4-H equestrian activity, are required<br />

to wear properly fitted protective headgear<br />

which meets or exceeds current ASTM<br />

(American Society for Testing and Materials)/SEI<br />

(Safety Equipment Institute) standards<br />

with the chin harness securely fastened<br />

at all times while riding or driving an<br />

equine.”<br />

All horses and ponies to be exhibited must<br />

have been vaccinated with Flu-Rhino Vaccine<br />

between March 1, 2013 and August<br />

20, 2013. Proof of vaccination must be provided<br />

to the superintendent upon request.<br />

1. Open to Hardin County Junior Fair exhibitors<br />

with horse project.<br />

2. Exhibitors must exhibit their own animals.<br />

3. The following measurement (with the shoe)<br />

will prevail in all classes:<br />

Horses over 58 inches<br />

Ponies 58 inches and under<br />

Minis 50 inches and under<br />

All horses and ponies to be measured by club advisers<br />

prior to June 1.<br />

4. Ages determined as of Jan. 1.<br />

5. Each animal can be shown only once in classes<br />

1 thru 12, 18-19, 33-39, 23, 24, 26, 27.<br />

6. All animals must be kept tied when in the<br />

stalls.<br />

7. Gates must be kept behind animals in the<br />

stalls.<br />
