See General Regulations. No. P.R.V. testing will<br />

be required. No light or heavy hogs will be allowed<br />

to return home.<br />

The Junior Fair Swine Shows are classified<br />

as terminal shows. These animals must go directly<br />

to slaughter. To comply with ODA rules,<br />

these animals can not be taken home before<br />

delivery to a custom slaughterhouse. Failure to<br />

follow these rules can have serious consequences<br />

including forfeiture of all fair premiums<br />

and disqualification from competition at<br />

future fairs.<br />

NOTE: Superintendents reserve the right to<br />

withhold premium money from exhibitors<br />

showing dirty livestock or maintaining a<br />

dirty pen. All swine exhibitors must clean<br />

pens and remove manure and bedding material<br />

from the buildings before leaving on<br />

Sunday. An amount equivalent to the members<br />

premiums will be deducted from Jr.<br />

Fair Livestock Sale checks of those exhibitors<br />

who do not comply.<br />

Any Exhibitor requiring the services of the<br />

Fair Veterinarian – A parent or guardian must<br />

be present at the exhibitor’s pen to authorize<br />

Following showmanship classes, a special class<br />

for hogs weighing under 220 lbs and a class for<br />

hogs over 285 lbs will show. These classes will<br />

show for grade only and will not be eligible for<br />

champion or reserve champion. Gilts and barrows<br />

will show together in these classes.<br />

Class 1 - Market Barrow<br />

Division I – 220lb-235lb<br />

Division II – 236lb-250lb<br />

Division III – 251lb-265lb<br />

Division IV – 266lb-285lb<br />

Champion and Reserve Market Barrow<br />

Class 2 – Market Gilt<br />

Division I – 220lb-235lb<br />

Division II – 236lb-250lb<br />

RULES:<br />

1. Maximum number of Market animals that<br />

can be shown or sold is 2.<br />

2. Market hogs must be on fairground and<br />

checked in by 3:00 P.M., Monday. If two animals<br />

are to be shown, both must be<br />

weighed at the same time. This weight will<br />

be the official sale weight. Hogs will be<br />

weighed to the nearest pound. These<br />

weights will be strictly enforced. Hogs<br />

weighing between 220 lbs and 285 lbs will<br />

be shown in regular market hog division<br />

classes and will be eligible for champion<br />

and reserve champion. Those hogs weighing<br />

under 220 lbs and 286 lbs and above<br />

will be sold in the Jr. Fair Livestock Sale<br />

and will be eligible to show in showmanship<br />

classes.<br />

3. Market animals will not be shown by breeds.<br />

All Market Barrows will show in classes according<br />

to weight limits. Market Gilts will<br />

show in classes according to weight limits.<br />

4. Exhibitors are responsible for the care of<br />

market animals until release time on Sunday.<br />

5. All pens shall be clean of manure and feed<br />

and water pans each night.
