RULES<br />
1. Market beef must also show in Class 9 of<br />
Junior Fair Show and are included as part<br />
of two market beef member can show at the<br />
fair.<br />
2. Animals shown in this class must have been<br />
born and raised in Hardin County or Hardin<br />
County School District boundaries.<br />
3. Name and address of breeder must appear<br />
on entry blank for animal to be eligible to be<br />
shown. Market beef cannot be shown unless<br />
a completed entry is submitted by August<br />

4. All market animals will show by shoulder<br />
height.<br />

Beef exhibitors are highly encouraged to tie<br />

BEEF FEEDER<br />
Class 11 – Beef Feeders<br />
RULES:<br />
1. All calves must be of any beef breed or a<br />
cross from within the beef breeds. Can be<br />
heifer or steer calf.<br />
2. Calves must be born Feb. 1 to May 15, 2013<br />
3. All calves are to be dehorned and surgically<br />
castrated by June 1.<br />
4. All calves must be under ownership and under<br />
continual care of exhibitor by June 1,<br />
2013.<br />
5. Maximum number of steers or heifers to be<br />
shown is two.<br />
6. All beef feeders brought to the fair will be required<br />
to have a series of two vaccinations.<br />
The vaccinatons are to cover BVD, IBR,<br />
BRSV and P13.<br />
The first dose should be given between May<br />
24 and June 27 and can be administered by<br />
the family if desired. Proof of purchase and<br />
appropriate documentation must be kept by<br />
the member and recorded in their livestock<br />
record book.<br />
The second dose should be given between<br />
July 24 and August 22. It is recommended<br />
that the second dose be given at the time<br />
the veterinarian ear tags the animal for fair.<br />
Proof that the first dose was given by the<br />
family must be provided to the veterinarian<br />
at that time.<br />
7. All feeders will be weighed Monday at 6:30<br />
p.m. to be eligible to show.<br />
8. Superintendent will determine and post<br />
steer classes.<br />
RATE OF GAIN CONTEST<br />
To be eligible for this year’s Rate of Gain<br />
Contest, market animals were weighed on December<br />
29, 2012. All Junior Fair Beef Rules<br />
apply in Rate of Gain Contest.<br />

JR. <strong>FAIR</strong> FITTING & GROOMING CONTEST<br />
Tuesday, September 3, 2013, 1:00p.m.<br />
Open to 2013 Hardin Co. Fair Beef Exhibitors<br />
CONTEST RULES:<br />
1 – A team will consist of at least 1 senior and<br />
other member will be either an intermediate or<br />
junior.<br />
2 – Thirty minutes (30) will be allowed to prepare<br />
an animal for show. Chutes will be allowed.<br />
3 – Team will furnish their own equipment.<br />
4 – Washing and clipping of animal prior to<br />
contest is allowed.<br />
5 – No adult coaching will be allowed either<br />
with-in contest area or outside of it. Violations<br />
could disqualify contestants.
