Class 1 – Dairy Beef Feeder<br />
RULES:<br />
1 – All calves must be of any dairy breed or a<br />
cross from within the dairy breeds.<br />
2 – Calves must be born in March 1, 2013 to<br />
April 15, 2013.<br />
3 – All calves are to be de-horned and surgically<br />
castrated by June 15.<br />
4 – All calves must be under ownership and in<br />
possession of and under continual care of exhibitor<br />
by June 1.<br />
5 – Maximum number of calves to be shown<br />
is 2. Only 1 Feeder can be sold. (See Jr. Fair<br />
Sale Rules)<br />
6 – All dairy feeders brought to the fair will be<br />
required to have a series of two vaccinations.<br />
The vaccinations are to cover BVD, IBR, BRSV<br />
and P13.<br />
The first dose should be given between May 24<br />
and June 27 and can be administered by the<br />
family if desired. Proof of purchase and appropriate<br />
documentation must be kept by the<br />
member and recorded in their livestock record<br />
book.<br />
The second dose should be given between July<br />
24 and August 22. It is recommended that the<br />
second dose be given at the time the veterinarian<br />
ear tags the animals for fair. Proof that<br />
the first dose was given by the family must be<br />
provided to the veterinarian at that time.<br />
7 – No clipping or trimming of animals allowed<br />
at the fair. Animals are to be washed and<br />
shown dry.<br />
8 – All steers will be weighed between 5:00 and<br />
6:00 P.M. Monday to be eligible to show. This<br />
weight will be sale weight.<br />
9 – Superintendent will determine and post steer<br />
classes.
