The Junior Fair Livestock Sale is managed by<br />

the Hardin County Agricultural Society.<br />

The Hardin County Agricultural Society is an<br />

agent only. Sellers will be paid when the specific<br />

buyer has paid the Fair Board.<br />

All animals offered in the Junior Fair Sale<br />

must be 4-H or FFA projects. Only animals<br />

shown in the Junior Fair Market classes are eligible<br />

to sell. Animals may not sell if they are declared<br />

ineligible for health reasons or because of<br />

drug treatment limitations.<br />

The Junior Fair Swine and Market Lamb<br />

Shows are classified as terminal shows. These<br />

animals must go directly to slaughter. To comply<br />

with ODA rules, these animals can not be<br />

taken home before delivery to a custom slaughterhouse.<br />

Failure to follow these rules can have<br />

serious consequences including forfeiture of all<br />

fair premiums and disqualification from competition<br />

at future fairs.<br />

Junior Fair Exhibitors may sell in only one<br />

market livestock species, including milk, in the<br />

Junior Fair Sale. The species chosen must be<br />

designated on the Junior Fair entry blank. All<br />

Champions will sell in addition to the species<br />

designated by the exhibitor to be sold on their<br />

entry blank.<br />

Born & Raised in Hardin County Champions<br />

are not considered champions for the Junior<br />

Fair Livestock Sale.<br />

All animals shown in market classes are required<br />

to sell in the Junior Fair livestock sale.<br />

Exceptions are animals not declared for sale by<br />

youth showing two or more different species<br />

and those declared ineligible for health reasons.<br />

Junior Fair exhibitors may exhibit two beef<br />

steers but may sell only one. The animal to be<br />

sold must be declared to sell and will be tagged<br />

immediately after the Market Steer Show.<br />

Only animals declared for sale in the Junior<br />

Fair Livestock Sale are eligible to be covered by<br />

the Insurance Fund. Steers not declared to sell<br />

at time of weigh-in and steers not eligible following<br />

the show will not be insured.<br />

A gallon milkcan will be offered for sale from<br />

the projects of Junior Fair Dairy exhibitors. The<br />

proceeds of the sale will be prorated between all<br />

Junior Fair Dairy exhibitors present at the Sale.<br />

The milk sale will be conducted with bids of<br />

$50.00 accepted with each donation accumulating<br />

towards the final price.<br />

BUYERS NOTE: All sales must be paid for<br />

the day of the Sale, or definite settlement<br />

arrangements must be made with the clerk before<br />

leaving the Arena. Shipping instructions<br />

must be put on the bill at the time of settlement.<br />

All Dairy Beef Feeders will go to the rebuy<br />

bidder.<br />

All Rabbits will go to the rebuy bidder.<br />

No resale of animals by buyers will be allowed<br />

during sale.<br />

Rabbits, poultry and goats sold in the Junior<br />

Livestock Sale and beef and dairy beef feeders<br />

ineligible to sell can be removed at the regular<br />

release time of 7:00 P.M. Sunday, September 8.<br />

Steers, hogs and lambs sold in the Junior Fair<br />

Livestock Sale will be released at 9:00 P.M. Sunday,<br />

September 8. Animals are to be removed<br />

from the Fairgrounds by noon on Monday, September<br />

9. Champions will be released at 7:00<br />

p.m. Sunday, September 8.<br />

The Hardin County Agricultural Society<br />

and/or the Insurance Fund are not responsible<br />

for animals after they leave the Fairgrounds, or<br />

after Monday noon following the Fair.<br />

Market livestock will be the responsibility of<br />

the Junior Fair exhibitor until release time on<br />

Sunday. Exhibitors are to feed, water and care<br />

for market livestock and see that they are haltered,<br />

tied and penned until release time.<br />
