the right to slaughter any additional animals<br />

it deems necessary. Exhibitors barred from<br />

any state, county, or independent fair will be<br />

barred from the Hardin County Fair for the<br />

same length of time.<br />

31. Any person observed being abusive or inhumane<br />

to animals on the ground will be asked<br />

to leave, forfeit premium money and lose all<br />

sale privileges.<br />

32. Superintendents have the right to divide<br />

large classes into smaller divisions or combine<br />

smaller classes.<br />

33. No portable scales allowed on grounds.<br />

34. No steers, dairy-beef or dairy goats can show<br />

in Junior Fair with horns. Breeding beef, Angora<br />

goats and dairy may show with horns.<br />

35. Cattle are not to be tied out until after 8 P.M.<br />

36. NO Butt Fans – no fans on a stand. (Fans<br />

must either be mounted on a fan cage or hung<br />

from rafters.)<br />

37. All dairy beef feeders and steers are to bed<br />

with shavings – no straw.<br />

38. Junior Fair members are limited to showing<br />

two (2) steers, two (2) market pigs, two (2)<br />

market lambs, one (1) pen of three (3) rabbits,<br />

one (1) pen of three (3) broilers, one (1) commercial<br />

turkey, two (2) dairy beef feeder and<br />

two (2) market wether goats. NOTE: Only one<br />

steer, one dairy feeder or one dairy steer can<br />

be sold.<br />

39. Junior Fair exhibitors may sell in only one<br />

market livestock species (including milk) in<br />

the Jr. Fair Sale. The species chosen must be<br />

designated on Junior Fair entry blank. All<br />

champions will sell in addition to the species<br />

designated by the exhibitor to be sold on their<br />

entry blank.<br />

40. All market lambs must be clipped and<br />

eartagged by the last Saturday of June to be<br />

eligible to show.<br />

41. Any market lamb or goat showing evidence of<br />

testicular materials is not eligible for competition<br />

in the market classes.<br />

42. Market swine and market lambs are in a terminal<br />

show and must go to slaughter.<br />

43. Jr. Fair animals must be shown by the Jr.<br />

Fair exhibitor. In cases where a Jr. Fair exhibitor<br />

has two entries in the same class, the<br />

other showman must be a Hardin County Jr.<br />

Fair exhibitors this year.<br />

44. Jr. Fair exhibitors belonging to 4-H and FFA<br />

must exhibit different projects if exhibiting for<br />

both organizations.<br />

45. Junior Fair members cannot enter the same<br />

exhibit of grains, fruits and vegetables in more<br />

than one department. Jr. Fair exhibitors can<br />

enter two animals in the same class number<br />

in more than one breed of the same species in<br />

Junior Fair.<br />

46. Only first place animals will show for Grand<br />

Champion. At the judges discretion, second<br />

place animals from class which Grand Champion<br />

has been chosen from will come out and<br />

be eligible for Reserve Champion.<br />

47. In all Jr. Fair showmanship contests the following<br />

conditions will prevail: (a) Open to all<br />

Jr. Fair exhibitors who will also show in that<br />

division’s show. (b) Exhibitor must show<br />

their own project animals, which has or will<br />

be shown in regular Jr. Fair classes at this<br />

fair. No male animals allowed in showmanship,<br />

except rabbits and poultry. (c) Age<br />

brackets: See specific department for age<br />

bracket designation. All ages determined as of<br />

day of show. PREMIUM AND AWARDS<br />

48. All exhibitors must bring livestock exhibits to<br />

the ring to collect premium money.<br />

49. The judge’s decision will be final in making<br />

awards and will make awards according to the<br />

merit of the exhibit.<br />

50. All Junior Fair premium money will be paid in<br />

cash as scheduled or announced during fair.<br />

51. Errors in premium money will not be rectified<br />

after Dec. 1, 2013. Premiums will be paid on<br />

entries that appear in entry book only. No errors<br />

or omissions will be recognized after Dec.<br />

1, 2013.<br />

52. Premium checks must be cashed within<br />

30 DAYS AFTER RECEIPT. No cash premiums<br />

will be mailed.<br />

53. All protests must be made in writing signed<br />

by the person making the protest and filed<br />

with the fair secretary together with a protest<br />

fee of $50.00, within 24 hours of completion of<br />

show, except tractor pull and other special<br />

events, which will be returned if the protest is<br />

sustained by fair officials.<br />

54. The premiums offered in the Jr. Fair department<br />

include the state appropriation made<br />

available by the State Legislature for Junior<br />

Fair premium at our fair in 2013.<br />

55. Exhibits will be guarded during the fair but<br />

the fair management will not be responsible<br />

for any loss, damage or accident to exhibits<br />

that occur during the fair.<br />

SPORTSMANSHIP, NIGHT PERMITS<br />

56. Any person found guilty of rowdyism, unsportsmanlike<br />

conduct or creating a general<br />

disturbance on the fairgrounds, day or night,<br />

will be expelled from the grounds along with<br />

the exhibit by the fair officials and premium<br />

money will be withheld. No alcoholic beverages<br />

will be permitted.<br />

• No exhibitor is required to stay on the<br />

grounds overnight. If it is necessary to<br />

stay, it is preferred exhibitors stay in the<br />

campgrounds with a parent.<br />

57. Exhibitors who do stay overnight in any of<br />

the barns:<br />

• Must obtain a permit in the secre<br />

tary’s office.<br />

• Permit must be obtained by 8:00 P.M.<br />

on Tuesday of the fair.<br />

• Exhibitors age 18 and over and chaperones<br />

staying in the barns overnight must<br />

register at the secretary’s office.<br />

• Exhibitors under 18 must have a permit<br />

signed by a parent or guardian, chaperone<br />

and superintendent of the livestock<br />

department the exhibitor has entries in. A<br />

fair director or fair official will witness signatures.<br />

• Exhibitor must get a qualified chaperone<br />

to stay in the same barn as exhibitor.<br />

• A qualified chaperone must be a parent,<br />

guardian, grandparent, FFA adviser or<br />

4-H adviser. Chaperone must be of the<br />

same sex as exhibitor. (Male exhibitors need
