Blue Print Heater Control Valve

This heater control valve is a common failing part and fits the Mazda 121 (1996>2000) plus many 

popular Ford models (see below). 

The symptoms are the heater stuck on either hot or cold due to the servo/motor failing, and in some circumstances 

the plastic inlet/outlet pipes have also been known to break off.

Like most modern vehicles, the 2002> 

Nissan Micra (K12) isn’t without a 

few common problems, some of 

which can be easily misdiagnosed 

and result in garages trying to return 

a perfect working part for a credit 

claiming that it’s faulty. 

One such problem links both the 

camshaft position sensor and the timing 

chain on the petrol engined K12’s (and 

can also affect some Almera’s and 

Primera’s too).

The symptoms can be a mixture of a jittery rev counter at idle, 

slight hesitation on light throttle and MIL light coming on with 

P0300 code (or various cam/crank sensor codes). 

The technician will normally take the fault code from his diagnostics 

tool as gospel and replace the sensor (ADN17201C). Sometimes this 

cures the problem as the sensors are a failing part; however there is 

another common issue with the Micra that causes a very similar fault.

Basically, the timing chain can stretch which 

puts the engine’s timing out, which in 

turn affects it’s running / performance and 

eventually puts the MIL light on. 

The problem lies with the original ‘Hi-Vo’ type chain 

which was designed for silent running, but quite 

prone to premature stretching/elongating. Nissan 

allegedly ‘claim’ the stretching is a result of 

poor/incorrect servicing, and that the combustion 

gases make the oil acidic which then attacks the 

timing chain. Many would disagree and there have 

been numerous cases of stretched chains occurring 

on cars that are only 3>4 years old and have 

covered less than 15,000 miles!!

NEW DESIGN - cast alloy

In line with OE, Blue Print have recently changed 

the manufacture of the water pump for the 

Toyota Aygo / Peugeot 107 / Citroën C1 

(ADT391100) from a pressed steel type body to a 

die-cast aluminium constructed body. 

This change in design has been made to improve 

reliability as the original OE steel constructed water 

pump body is not as rigid as a die-cast alloy design 

and, in time, could lead to excessive tolerance on the 

water pump mechanical seal resulting in a leaking 

water pump. 

The new die-cast style pump requires longer bolts as 

the pump body is thicker than the original steel type. 

These longer bolts are included with the Blue Print 

water pump, along with a technical bulletin explaining 

the changes for the technician fitting the part.

including the longer bolts, including a technical 

bulletin and give it a 3 year warranty
