Howard County Grants (Above) With guidance from a local landscaper, volunteers prepare the area around the Howard County courthouse for Phase One of the Kokomo Downtown Association’s Courthouse Landscaping Project. A grant from the Community Foundation of Howard County helped to purchase edging, mulch and trees for 21 landscaping beds around the courthouse. (Above) Volunteers built wheelchair ramps through the United Way of Howard County’s Ramp-N-Roll project. The Community Foundation of Howard County provided funding to purchase materials to construct ramps for individuals who are unable to pay the expenses for a ramp. (Above) The Community Foundation of Howard County provided partial funding to bring the Maximum Impact simulcast to Howard County. Maximum Impact brings national and world leaders on stage to inspire participants through challenging and thought-provoking content. During the event, Liz Murray shared her experience in progressing from homelessness to Harvard. (Left) The Ivy Tech Foundation received grant funding from the Community Foundation of Howard County to support the purchase of a tractor and tiller to help prepare and maintain the soil for the Community Garden.
