BRITISH SWIMMING STAFF PROFILES Tim Reddish Lars Humer Position: Director of Disability Lives: Nottingham Position: Head Coach Date of Birth: 02.05.62 Age: 42 Born: Dunedin, New Zealand Lives: Poynton, Cheshire Born in Nottingham in 1957, former leisure centre manager & sports development officer Tim Reddish MBE has transferred a very successful swimming career to the poolside, where since 2003 he has headed up the British Swimming’s Disability team. Throughout his 13-year international career, Reddish has attended three Paralympic Games, three World Championships and five European Championships where he has collected a total of 22 gold, 11 silver and ten bronze medals. New Zealand-born Lars started swim coaching in 1978. His diverse coaching background includes qualifications in swimming, surf life saving, sprint kayaking, skiing and ru<strong>gb</strong>y and he is also a qualified sports massage therapist. Lars took on the role of senior coaching coordinator for British Disability Swimming in 2002 after working as assistant coach at the National high performance centre in Manchester for able-bodied swimming. He supports Liverpool FC. She comes has a sports management background in disability and sports development and has been involved with British Disability Swimming since Sydney 2000, when she was nominated to work with the swimming squad, following nine months voluntary work with SPOC. Away from work, Mel is a keen scuba diver and snowboarder. An former international swimmer, Sarah worked for the English Institute of Sport and Amateur Swimming Association, before taking up the role of World Class Coordinator for Disability Swimming in 2003. 69
