JUSTIFICATION - THE RESULT OF SALVATION
INTRODUCTION:
God’s ultimate desire is to rescue us from sin. But there is a problem, how do you excuse the sinner without
excusing the sin God always deals with sin seriously: Exodus 23:7 …I will not justify the wicked, Ezekiel 18:4,
…the soul that sinneth, it shall die. The penalty of sin always has to be paid for. God’s solution: Jesus
volunteered to pay the penalty for our sins by living the perfect life, dying on the cross and giving His righteousness
as a gift to all who believes.
1. WHAT IS JUSTIFICATION
A. Justification is being righteous (Blameless, sinless) before God, the sinner puts on the
righteousness (purity, sinless perfection) of Jesus Christ and God sees him or her perfect in the
righteousness of Christ.
2. THE CONTENTS OF JUSTIFICATION
a. Justification brings forgiveness of sin and the removal of guilt and punishment.
i. Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the
transgression of the remnant of his heritage he retaineth not his anger for ever,
because he delighteth in mercy. He will turn again, he will have compassion upon
us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of
the sea. (Micah 7:18-19)
ii. And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be
justified by the law of Moses. (Acts 13: 39)
b. Justification brings the righteousness (purity, sinless perfection) of Christ and it is given to the
sinner.
i. Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon
all them that believe: for there is no difference:(Romans 3:22)
3. THE CONDITION OF JUSTIFICATION
a. You may ask, “How can I get this justification” The answer is, “By believing”.
i. Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus
Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith
of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh
be justified. (Galatians 2:16)
4. THE WAY OF JUSTIFICATION
a. By God - Justification comes from God. He is the author and the giver. It is act performed by Him.
i. Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect It is God that justifieth.
(Romans 8:33)
b. By Grace – God’s grace (Gods undeserved love shown to us) is the source of justification.
i. Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
(Romans 3:24)
c. By Blood – The blood of Jesus is the foundation (base) for justification.
i. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath
through him. (Romans 5:9)
d. By Resurrection – The resurrection of Jesus is the public statement of justification.
i. Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.
(Romans 4:25)
5. THE PROOF OF JUSTIFICATION
a. A person who is truly justified will show it in the way they act and what they do.
i. Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son
upon the altar Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith
made perfect And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God,
and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
(James 2:21-23)
ii. This scripture shows the proper relationship between Faith and Works. By faith we are
justified, but after that we will live a righteous live which will produce good works.
6. THE RESULTS OF JUSTIFICATION
a. Peace – Peace of mind, conscience, soul through the love, truth and presence of God.
i. Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus
Christ: (Romans 5:1)
b. Contact with the Father – For worship, praise and prayer.
i. By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice
in hope of the glory of God. (Romans 5:2)
c. Tribulation – We will have peace with God and tribulation (difficulty, trouble) with this world.
i. … all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. (2 Timothy 3:12)
