o-Tt'xoi or verses in each\ This list comprises three divisions: (i) The<br />

Canonical books universally received by the Church (^eiat ypacfioi ek-<br />

KXr](TLat,c ixevai kol KiKavoviaixevai). (2) 'Those which are disputed' (oo-at<br />

avTiA-cyovrat). This section comprises in the Old Testament (roughly<br />

speaking) the deutero-canonical books included in the ordinary Greek<br />

Bibles, e.g. Maccabees, Wisdom of Solomon, etc.; and in the New<br />

Testament these four, the Apocalypse of S. John, the Apocalypse of<br />

S. Peter, the Epistle of Barnabas, and the Gospel according to the<br />

Hebrews. (3) The 'Apocryphal' books of the Old and New Testaments<br />
