Larry Hulbert, independent higher education professional, Sydney, Australia has been conducting a
comprehensive educational audit of LVPEI’s current training programs as part of a quality improvement/
assurance effort. He is also examining infrastructure development, training of trainers, how to ensure
better mentoring, clinical performance evaluation for post-doctoral fellows and/or other clinical
programs. Dr Hulbert is donating his services to the Institute.
Prof T Rowan Candy, Associate Professor, Indiana University School of Optometry, Indiana, USA
visited LVPEI (February – March) to collaborate on a research project with Dr Shrikant Bharadwaj, on
understanding the visual experience of infants and children with different spectacle prescriptions in the
two eyes (anisometropia).

Prof Robert C Kersten, Professor of Ophthalmology, University of Cincinnati Medical School, USA
was ORBIS visiting faculty and lectured on a range of topics in ophthalmic plastics and orbital diseases,
including lymphoproliferative disorder and soft tissue injuries to the orbit and adnexa.
Prof Amod Gupta, Head, Ophthalmology, Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research,
Chandigarh spoke on ‘Significance of clinical signs and symptoms in uveitis’ and worked closely with
the Retina Vitreous Services.
