CR12.136 CITY OF PERTH SURF LIFE SAVING CLUB - AGREEMENT FOR
REDEVELOPMENT AND LEASE OF PREMISESS
PURPOSE OF REPORT:
To seek a variation to the Agreement, endorsed by Council at its meeting in February 2012,
between the Town and the Surf Club for the redevelopment and subsequent lease of the surf
club premises.

lease)
• 28 February 2012, Agreement for Redevelopment and Lease.
At the February 2012 Ordinary Council Meeting, a report was submitted regarding a
proposed Agreement for Redevelopment and Lease of the City Beach Surf Club to which the
City of Perth Surf Lifesaving Club (COPSLSC) sought a number of provisions. Some of the
provisions were agreed, others were rejected. Council decided that:
"the Agreement and Lease for the redevelopment of the City of Perth Surf Life Saving
Club premises as attached be approved with the following amendments:
(a)
(b)
the Agreement, Definitions, Temporary Premises - Add a Clause (c) 'to enable
the Club to operate';
the Lease, Clause 10.1 Permitted Use, Add 'programs aimed at health, fitness,
well being and personal development';
noting that the clauses specific to the fit out of the new premises will be subject to
change and contingent on the outcomes of the business case;
the City of Perth Surf Club's request to amend or include:
• New Premises - 'like for like' external areas
• Term - Option to renew
• 5 Yearly Review of Maintenance Contributions - capped
• Non-Compete Provision
