CR12.131 ENVIRO 2012 CONFERENCE AND EXHIBITION
PURPOSE OF REPORT:
To provide details of the Enviro 2012 Conference and Exhibition attended by Mayor Withers.
BACKGROUND:
The Mayor recently attended the Enviro 2012 Conference and Exhibition in Adelaide from 25
to 27 July 2012 in his capacity as a Councillor of the Mindarie Regional Council.
DETAILS:
In accordance with Council Policy No. 1.1.3, Elected Members and Staff are required to
circulate a report containing any information or material of interest or relevance to Elected
Members within a period of six weeks following attendance at the conference. Although the
Mayor was not attending the conference as a Town of Cambridge representative, he has
nevertheless decided to prepare a report for Council.
A report submitted by the Mayor is attached for Elected Members' information.
POLICY/STATUTORY IMPLICATIONS:
Policy No. 1.1.3 - Conference Attendance - Representation and Expenses.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
There are no Financial Implications related to this report.
STRATEGIC DIRECTION:
Attendance at the Enviro 2012 Conference was in accordance with the Town's goals to
provide:-
• Environmentally sustainable practices for the Town's operations; and
• Informed decision making.
COMMUNITY CONSULTATION:
This matter has been assessed under the Community Consultation Policy. In accordance
with the assessment criteria it was rated at Level 1, for which no community consultation is
required.
