COUNCIL MINUTES
TUESDAY 28 AUGUST 2012
The proposed infringement penalties are consistent with the Town's Strategic Plan objective
of ensuring that strategies are in place for providing services that meet the needs of
ratepayers, residents and visitors.
COMMUNITY CONSULTATION:
This matter has been assessed under the Community Consultation Policy as “Not required”
as the matter is administrative in nature with no external impacts.

COUNCIL DECISION:
(COMMITTEE AND ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION)
Moved by Cr MacRae, seconded by Cr Bradley
That:-
(i)
Ms Cliodhna Mc Killop and Miss Kate Lapham, Environmental Health Officers,
whilst employed by the Town, be appointed as authorised officers with effect
from 12 December 2011 and 11 June 2012 respectively in terms of:
(a) Health Act 1911 and all subsidiary legislation;
(b) Environmental Protection Act 1986 and all subsidiary legislation;
(c) for the purposes Section 122(1)(b) of the Food Act 2008;
(d) be designated as 'Designated Officers' under provisions of Section 126(13)
of the Food Act 2008 for the express purpose of issuing Infringement
Notices;
(e) Litter Act 1979 and all subsidiary legislation;
(f) Local Government Act 1995, Sections 9.10, 9.15 and 9.16 for the purposes
of enforcing any provisions of the Act and all Local Laws made under the
Act, the issue of Notices and the issue of Infringement Notices;
(g) the Cambridge Endowment Lands Act 1920 and local laws made under that
Act; and
(h) all of the Town of Cambridge Local Laws;
(ii)
Mr Sam Moss and Ms Christine Catchpole, Planning Officers, whilst employed
by the Town, be appointed as authorised officers with effect from 19 September
2011 and 16 July 2012 respectively , in terms of:
(a)
(b)

(d)
the Town of Cambridge Town Planning Scheme, Clause 54 for the purpose
of entering, at any reasonable time, any building or land to determine
whether the provisions of the Scheme have been or are being observed;
the Cambridge Endowment Lands Act 1920 and local laws made under that
Act;
the Local Government Act 1995, Sections 3.24, 3.34, 9.10, 9.11 and 9.13, for
the purposes of entering private land and enforcing any provisions of the
Act and Local Laws made under the Act;
all of the Town of Cambridge Local Laws.
