Grapeview ‘Gives it Back’
Once again, our friends from Grapeview Public School have organized
their annual “Give It Back” program. Rather than giving holiday gifts
to their teachers, students make a donation to the Paediatric Department
in their honour. This simple concept has proven effective year after year -
to date, over $1,800 has been raised to purchase urgent equipment for
the Paediatric Department for the SCG. Teachers, Pam Schonewille, Lynn
Murray and long-time, volunteer Karen Main founded the “Give It Back”
program and hope other schools in Niagara will adopt the concept.
AND TALKING THE TALK White Oaks Conference Resort & Spa is committed to preserving the
environment and reducing our impact in any way we can. This is what our guests want and need, and we are
proud to be at the forefront of this vitally important initiative. However, to make certain we weren’t just blowing
(green) smoke, we put ourselves to the ultimate test...
TURNING OVER A NEW LEAF (OR FOUR) One of only twelve properties in Canada (AND THE
ONLY IN NIAGARA) to receive this designation, White Oaks has earned the prestigious Four Leaf f rating from the
Audubon Green LeafTM Program. To receive a Four Leaf f ranking on the first attempt is unprecedented, but... not
content to rest on our laurels, we are set on getting that fifth leaf.
REDUCING OUR CARBON FOOTPRINT With critical buy-in from senior management and team
members, every aspect of our service is challenged to reduce its’ effect on the environment. If you’re interested in
decreasing your footprint the next time you stage a corporate event, discover how White Oaks Conference
Resort & Spa can help you tread a little lighter.
