SEMI-GEL ETCHANTS
Phosphoric Acid Etchants With Benzalkonium
Chloride
Bisco Etchants are the only polymer-thickened phosphoric acid semi-gels available on
the market. With the addition of Benzalkonium Chloride (BAC), Bisco Etchants deliver
a disinfected surface free of silica residue optimizing bond strengths by as much as
30%. Additionally, BAC continues its anti-microbial effect even after rinsing. Now, that’s
clean!
BENEFITS
Antimicrobial proven effective even after rinsing w/BAC. (Also available w/out BAC)
Does not leave silica residue thereby optimizing bond strengths
Superior handling characteristics / stays where it is placed
Rinses away cleanly and quickly leaving no residue to interfere with bonding
TYPICAL GEL
Note the presence of silica, used as fi ller, on
the etched, rinsed surface. Imperceptible to the
naked eye, the remaining debris can impede
the flow of primer over the dentin surface and
into the dentinal tubules. This can compromise
surface wetting and bond strength.
BISCO’s SEMI-GEL
BISCO etchants utilize a polymer to create
thixotropic properties and enhance handling
characteristics. Furthermore, it leaves no
residue, rinsing away completely.
PORCELAIN ETCHANTS
PORCELAIN ETCHANT improves the adhesive bond between porcelain and cement
by increasing the surface area of the porcelain to be bonded. The effect is similar to
sandblasting but is more controlled and effective. PORCELAIN ETCHANT will
microscopically roughen any porcelain or glass surface.
Bisco’s PORCELAIN ETCHANT is now available in 2 concentrations: 4% (for more
traditional use) and 9.5% (to reduce etching time). Use either product to etch porcelain
veneers, crowns, inlays, and onlays prior to cementation or for the repair of porcelain
restorations. Bisco BARRIER GEL is placed where etching is not desired.
