2013 Refresher Course Day and <strong>Faculty</strong> dinner<br />

“Selling <strong>pain</strong> science – communication and cultural competition”<br />

The 2013 FPM Refresher Course Day will be held at the S<strong>of</strong>itel<br />

Melbourne on Collins, on Friday May 3. The theme “Selling <strong>pain</strong><br />

science: communication and cultural competition” will explore the<br />

diversity <strong>of</strong> communication issues in <strong>pain</strong> <strong>medicine</strong>, including<br />

consultation skills, interpr<strong>of</strong>essional communication, our cultural<br />

competitors and the <strong>pain</strong> <strong>medicine</strong> ‘brand’ in the wider culture <strong>of</strong> our community. Speakers include<br />

international guests Pr<strong>of</strong>essor Edzard Ernst (UK) and Pr<strong>of</strong>essor Fabrizio Benedetti (Italy) complemented<br />

by speakers from medical and non-medical backgrounds with expertise in all facets <strong>of</strong> communication.<br />
