When to contact your doctor- continued<br />

2. Your child is so breathless that they have difficulty speaking or<br />

their chest looks very expanded. These are signs of a severe<br />

attack, give another dose of symptom reliever and contact your<br />

Doctor immediately.<br />

3. Your child looks blue. This is a sign of a severe attack, give<br />

another dose of symptom reliever and contact your Doctor<br />

immediately.<br />

4. If you are away from home and are worried, give the symptom<br />

reliever and go to the nearest hospital.<br />

If your child is in extreme difficulty, call an ambulance.<br />

Give further doses of reliever medicine while waiting.<br />

Keep this sheet safe and bring it along with all your inhalers to any<br />

appointments at the hospital or at your GP surgery.<br />
