15. When responding to a Level 2 – Major <strong>In</strong>cident shall<br />

• ensure that the duties listed for the First Supervisory Officer are completed<br />

• co–ordinate and manage the police response to the incident, ensuring<br />

− the necessary functions of the IMS are being addressed<br />

− sufficient police, emergency and support agency personnel attend<br />

− conduct regular briefings with members of the IMS Team<br />

− conduct unified command briefings with other responding agencies<br />

16. If assessing the situation to be a Level 3 – Disaster <strong>In</strong>cident shall contact the Operations<br />

Supervisor to request the attendance of a Duty <strong>In</strong>spector.<br />

17. When notified of a Level 2 – Major <strong>In</strong>cident shall<br />

• notify the <strong>In</strong>spector – EM&PO<br />

• monitor the developing situation and attend the scene as directed by the <strong>In</strong>spector –<br />

• if assigned to attend the scene, reassess the situation upon arrival<br />

<strong>In</strong>spector – Emergency Management & Public Order<br />

18. When notified of a Level 2 – Major <strong>In</strong>cident shall<br />

• monitor the developing situation<br />

• attend the scene in the first instance, or the PCC when necessary<br />

• reassess the situation upon arrival<br />

• update the Unit Commander – EM&PO<br />

− Staff Superintendent – Public Safety Operations<br />
