20. Upon receipt of a TPS 649 and/or a MED 1 containing recommendations from OHS - MAS shall<br />

ensure<br />

• the member's OIC is provided with a copy<br />

• the appropriate action is taken<br />

• the duties assigned to the member comply with the directions contained in the MED 1<br />

and/or TPS 649<br />

• the process outlined in this Procedure is reinitiated if work performance or safety concerns<br />

reoccur<br />

• when a follow-up is requested by OHS–MAS, a TPS 649 is completed and forwarded to<br />

OHS - MAS<br />

21. When a member has been absent for a period longer than ninety (90) consecutive days under<br />

any of the following conditions;<br />

− when deemed not fit for duty,<br />

− when absent from work due to a non-work related illness/injury,<br />

− when absent from work due to a work related illness/injury,<br />

− when absent from work for any reason<br />

shall ensure that the member has returned all of their Service issued uniform & equipment<br />

including all use of force options, identification card, wallet and cap badges, eToken and<br />

memorandum book, unless otherwise directed by the Chief of <strong>Police</strong>.<br />

22. When a member has surrendered or has been relieved of their Service issued uniform &<br />

equipment, shall ensure Item 14 of this Procedure has been complied with.<br />

Fleet & Materials Management has a master list for uniform & equipment. The<br />

Toronto <strong>Police</strong> College – Armament Section keeps an inventory of weapons<br />

(Firearms/CEWs) on Asset <strong>In</strong>ventory Management System (AIMS). Specialized<br />

Operations Command maintains a listing of all approved uniform & equipment for<br />

specialized units. These lists should be consulted when a member has<br />

surrendered or has been relieved of their Service issued uniform & equipment, as<br />

applicable.<br />

A Senior Officer in consultation with the Staff Superintendent/Director may, at any<br />

time, relieve the member of their Service issued uniform & equipment including all<br />

use of force options, identification card, wallet & cap badge, eToken and<br />

memorandum book or appropriate items as deemed necessary.<br />

23. Upon receipt of TPS 649 requesting a fitness for duty assessment shall<br />

• request reports from the member’s unit commander<br />

• make arrangements through the affected member’s unit commander<br />

• ensure a determination is made regarding the member’s fitness for duty<br />

24. Upon conclusion of the member's evaluation and/or treatment, shall<br />
