Honored with Alumni Hall of<br />

Fame Award<br />

<strong>The</strong> Alumni Hall of Fame was established in 2005 <strong>to</strong> recognize<br />

individuals who embody what <strong>The</strong> <strong>American</strong> <strong>College</strong> stands for—<br />

integrity, professionalism, volunteerism, and dedication <strong>to</strong> education.<br />

During the Knowledge Summit in Las Vegas this past November, <strong>The</strong><br />

<strong>American</strong> <strong>College</strong> inducted three outstanding alumni in<strong>to</strong> the 2013<br />

Hall of Fame: Debra Boblitt, CLF ® ; Art Kraus, CLU ® , ChFC ® , CAP ® ; and<br />

Gloria La Grassa, CLU ® , ChFC ® .<br />

Debra Boblitt, CLF ® (far left) is a Senior Vice President of State<br />

Farm Insurance, and has been with the company for over two<br />

decades. Debra champions the advancement of women in the<br />

industry. She played an instrumental role in encouraging State<br />

Farm’s commitment <strong>to</strong> the Center for Women and Financial<br />

Services at <strong>The</strong> <strong>American</strong> <strong>College</strong>. She currently serves as Secretary<br />

of <strong>The</strong> <strong>American</strong> <strong>College</strong> Foundation Board of Direc<strong>to</strong>rs and also<br />

serves on the Board’s Executive Committee. She was a featured<br />

speaker at <strong>The</strong> <strong>College</strong>’s 2011 Las Vegas Knowledge Summit and<br />

was the keynote speaker for <strong>The</strong> <strong>College</strong>’s 2008 Conferment at<br />

Pearl Harbor.<br />

Art Kraus, CLU ® , ChFC ® , CAP ® (center) began his career in 1960<br />

with Pacific Mutual Life Insurance Company and was promoted <strong>to</strong><br />

President of Pacific Consulting Corporation, a subsidiary of Pacific<br />

Life, in 1969. Soon after, he co-founded the AFP Group, which<br />

grew <strong>to</strong> become one of the largest financial planning companies<br />

in the country. In 1998, he became the CEO of NAIFA, and four<br />

years later founded Capital Intelligence Associates with his son.<br />

Art spends a great deal of his time on industry advocacy efforts in<br />

Washing<strong>to</strong>n. He played a key role in spearheading <strong>The</strong> <strong>American</strong><br />

<strong>College</strong>’s Alumni LIVE events in Los Angeles in 2010 and 2013.<br />

Art currently serves on <strong>The</strong> <strong>American</strong> <strong>College</strong> Foundation Board<br />

of Direc<strong>to</strong>rs.<br />

Gloria La Grassa, CLU ® , ChFC ® (far right) began her career<br />

alongside Charles Lamont Post, an early benefac<strong>to</strong>r of <strong>The</strong><br />

<strong>College</strong> who endowed a chair concentrating on the study of ethics.<br />

Gloria served on <strong>The</strong> <strong>College</strong>’s Board of Trustees for seven years<br />

and on the Foundation Board of Direc<strong>to</strong>rs for nine years. She was<br />

the Secretary on each board for five years. She also served on the<br />

Presidential Search Committee in 2002. In 1999, Gloria helped<br />

fund <strong>The</strong> <strong>College</strong>’s state-of-the-art audi<strong>to</strong>rium. In 2009, Gloria<br />

received the Huebner Gold Medal, the highest honor bes<strong>to</strong>wed by<br />

<strong>The</strong> <strong>American</strong> <strong>College</strong>. In 2011, <strong>The</strong> <strong>American</strong> <strong>College</strong> dedicated<br />

the academic floor of MDRT Foundation Hall in her honor.<br />
