Glass Specification<br />
The specification on the following pages is written according to the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) 3-Part Format. The<br />
specification can be customized for your project by including details for the products you are specifying in Article 2.6 Product<br />
Schedule. The blue text below is intended to be altered to identify the specific product you selected.<br />
Please see example below<br />
Step 1. Select a product: For Example - VRE6-54 Insulating Glass.<br />
Step 2. Find the product type in Article 2.6 Product Schedule.<br />
a. Insulating Coated Glass:<br />
1. {Overall Thickness} {Product Number, ex: VRE1-46} Insulating Coated Glass as manufactured by Viracon.<br />
a. Exterior Glass Ply: {Thickness} {Color} {Heat Treatment - AN, HS or FT}<br />
b. Coating: {Coating} on #2 Surface<br />
c. Space: {Thickness} {Material – aluminum, stainless steel, etc.} {finish – mill finish or black painted}<br />
{Gas – argon or air} filled<br />
d. Silicone: {gray or black}<br />
e. Interior Glass Ply: {Thickness} {Color} {Heat Treatment - AN, HS or FT}<br />
2. Performance Requirements<br />
a. Visible Light Transmittance: { }%<br />
b. Exterior Reflectance: { }%<br />
c. Winter U-Value: { }<br />
d. Summer U-Value: { }<br />

Step 3. Insert VRE6-54 into your specification including all of the details needed to manufacture the glass unit as well as the solar<br />
performance requirements.<br />
a. Insulating Coated Glass:<br />
1. 1” VRE6-54 Insulating Coated Glass as manufactured by Viracon.<br />
a. Exterior Glass Ply: 1/4” Blue-green HS<br />
b. Coating: VRE-54 on #2 Surface<br />
c. Space: 1/2” – aluminum, black painted, air filled<br />
d. Silicone: black<br />
e. Interior Glass Ply: 1/4” Clear HS<br />
2. Performance Requirements<br />
a. Visible Light Transmittance: 41%<br />
b. Exterior Reflectance: 24%<br />
