6.3 Cost Comparison for Hardware
The previous section deals with the installation of loops. Here we investigate the cost of
installing the hardware for a typical ATMS detector station. It is assumed that that all the
necessary communications infrastructure is in place, including an Ethernet switch for the
detector hardware to connect to.
The comparison is made between an Ethernet enabled Golden River traffic detector with 16
inputs, (enough for 8 lanes) and a Sensys detector.
