The following distinguishing features characterise our<br />
innovative suspension system:<br />
Dynamic Stability: Despite having a conventional non-driven axle, the<br />
GKN Axles SIDRA® system is designed with the advantage of improved<br />
trailer handling characteristics, resulting in a unique driving experience,<br />
regardless of whether you are moving on- or off-road.<br />
Thanks to the independent, interconnected set of hydraulic cylinders,<br />
the system is able to adapt instantaneously to the unevenness of the<br />
ground the vehicle is travelling onto.<br />
Reduced Fuel Consumption: The limited amount of stresses transmitted<br />
to the tractor through the coupling allow for a smoother movement of the<br />
whole vehicle in the field.<br />
Less power is required from the tractor engine resulting in a reduced<br />
fuel consumption rate and a better driving feel.<br />
Ease of installation: One of the additional benefits of the system lies<br />
in its ease of installation. Just a few bolts are needed for the fixing onto the<br />
machine frame, ensuring a time- and cost-saving assembly process onto<br />
the final vehicle. Alternatively, the system can be easily welded into place.<br />
Maximum Flexibility: All SIDRA® modules are equipped with either<br />
fixed or steering stub-axles and self- or forced steering systems, which<br />
can be easily combined for a single, tandem or tridem axle configuration<br />
trailer. Also available upon request are different track widths, which can<br />
be varied on demand according to the type of application and tyre used,<br />
and customised versions for special trailers.
