Registration Information and Policies
TO REGISTER: Complete registration form and mail
or deliver with fee to Attn: Enrichment Program, Portage
Administration Building, 8111 S. Westnedge, Portage, MI
49002. Make checks payable to Portage Public Schools. We
also accept phone (323-6700), fax (323-5001) or ON-LINE
REGISTRATION using Visa, MasterCard or Discover.

To avoid disappointment, you are urged to REGISTER IN
ADVANCE! Mark your calendar!! Come at your registered
time unless otherwise contacted.
GOLD CARD HOLDERS: Receive a 10% reduction in
charges on your class fees. (Applies to most classes.) Please
call the office before registering to obtain the correct charges.
REFUND POLICIES: A full refund will be issued: if
it is necessary for us to cancel a class/program because of
insufficient enrollment
If the enrolled student calls within three business days before
the first class meeting, a refund will be issued, minus a $5
processing fee. If you cancel after the deadline, you will not
qualify for a refund. If the class you are dropping still has
the minimum enrollment needed to run, you may transfer your
registration to another session or hold as a credit.
No refunds or credits will be issued after the class/program
has met a second time.
No refunds or credits will be issued for one-time programs
unless request is received at least three business days in
advance. You may designate a substitute participant if you are
unable to attend.
RETURN CHECKS: A $25 fee will be assessed for returned
checks.
SNOW DAY PROCEDURES: A reminder on the procedure
we follow in the event snow forces class cancellation:
1. If schools are closed during the day, night classes and
activities are automatically cancelled.
2. If an afternoon storm develops and it becomes necessary
to cancel evening classes, the following is done: Teachers
are notified and asked to try and contact students;
Announcements are made on area radio and television
stations after 4:00 p.m.
3. Please remember: Occasionally weather conditions at
4:00 or 4:30 may not be ideal, but are still good enough
to permit the holding of classes. However, they can
suddenly worsen at 5:00 or 5:30, in which case it’s
almost impossible to announce cancellation at that time.
If that should happen, you must use your own judgment
regarding attendance. (The night number of 323-6700
may be called.)
4. Every effort will be made to make up time lost due to
cancellation.
