Tlingit-Haida-Tsimshian As A Second Language
Kindergarten - Grade 3
Motivation
Before the lesson begins, obtain two pieces of
bread and a sock. Place the items in a container
and tell the students that you are going
to make your favorite sandwich. Place one
slice of bread on a plate. Then, place the sock
and the second slice of bread on top of the first
slice. The students should soon tell you that
you can’t make a sandwich with a sock. Use
this to introduce northern foods.
Introduction
above. Show the vocabulary pictures from
this unit.
